There are far, far worse and more challenging kits than those out there lurking, waiting for you to drop your guard, and then to pounce onto your work bench.
I am struggling through assembling a Model Tech horse drawn delivery wagon that has finally reached the point of "screw the instructions, I'm building this the way it really should be put together"........ Fortunately, I do not have to assemble the horses.

Westbrook Stock Car Kit...also known as a box of wooden matchsticks.
I have one...and no idea if it is all there or not...and I am NOT going to assemble it.
Maybe I could mail it to you?
hehehe.

I've scratchbuilt stock cars board by board already - a box of raw materials is what you have, and parts missing just make it closer to scratchbuilding.
It's your $ on the postage.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the challenge of a kit build. My Rufus projects are a blast!

But some of these kits a mind boggling!

Yes, the Mullet River cars with that improved etched brass underbody will test your soul, particularly when there's a tab w/o a slot in the laser cut bits.

The Mullet River kits can be "interesting" to build. But I do like the results and am sorry to see them no longer available.

I have a Mullet River caboose kit which I haven’t started. Any tips? Are the directions good? Will I maintain my sanity?

Here I thought I read that Desplains bought the line and was going to re-introduce them?

Proceed with care after reading the instruction several times and have ID'd all of the parts as needed per each step. Think a bit ahead now and again - planning is a good thing.
Are the directions good?
Generally good +/- a bit - better than many, actually.
Will I maintain my sanity?
O scale modeler - too late........

Re: This Is Why We Have Mental Institutions!
After the Chicago meet, somebody posted on OGR that the Mullet River tooling/cad/whatever you call it for laser cutting was being bought by a new vendor. The poster indicated nothing about who the buyer might be, other than they were a vendor at the Chicago meet. No other details. My guess would be Scale City Designs. The guess is informed solely on the fact that they've picked up other lines in the past, and they are already equipped for laser cutting.
Guess I should read all the way through the thread before posting redundant info. I guess I it would make some sense if Des Plaines picked up the Mullet River line.

By the way, here is a link to the Wayback Machine Mullet River site, specifically the page on construction tips. Might be worth a look.
