Me too - a much better proportioned model. If Max made them out of decently heavy brass they would be nice to have.
Carey - just noticed your comment about the rarity of the Consolidation - are you lusting after one or just making an observation as to rareness?
Here's another "deal and a half".........!!!!!

Re: Here's another "deal and a half".........!!!!!
Hello Bob
Lust would be too strong of a word for any Consolidation .. a Consolidation in the steam world, is a girl with a good personality .. I save the lust word for the Walthers & Alexander streamlined steam engines of 1939.
Sure a Thomas Consolidation is on the want list .... ... I have yet to see one in the flesh ( brass & steel + zarmac ) but I'm new to this game ...
Seems to be a good number of the Thomas 040's and 440's out in the world ...
Do you know of one that is available ?
Thank you Cheers Carey

Here is a dirtbag photo. This is not "stock"; those rods came from elsewhere, and the cylinder block is off a Pacific or something. Plus, no motor or tender, or pilot. Still, a nice, uncorroded example.
