$800+ for an original slide?

So I thought some of the auctions you guys post here go for crazy money, but any idea why this and some of this other guy's slides are going for big dollars? This slide is close to the price of some 2R models of N&W articulated steam on the used circuit.

Someone like morning sun trying to buy these up to print more books? Is there something really rare seen in the slide other than it being just a never before published/seen/etc slide?

Wow! I sure don't understand the attraction. Is that Thurmond in the photo? The son of Jim Eudaly is the owner/publisher for White River Productions (think that's the name) and Jim is a huge C&O fan, but $800............................... Maybe someone whose father is the man in the picture????

What's to say it's one of a kind? These could have been sold in a souvenir shop by the 1000. Makes me want to strike while the iron is hot. I have a few different railroad slides in the attic.

3 Bidders and 14 bids so far! I remember seeing a slide of a GN E7 go for $150, and i thought that was excessive. To have 2 or more bidders willing to go that high, totally confuses me. I don't see anything special, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and price is dependent on the purse of the bidder. $800 is chump change for some people. Waaaaaaaaaay out of my league!
