Remembering Rufus T. Firefly

Postby webenda » Wed Apr 10, 2024 11:05 pm

Does anyone remember Rufus T. Firefly?
I always enjoyed the models in progress that Rufus posted on MTJ.
He left MTJ but is still busy with other model train venues.
It looks like Rufus has posted a photo of his layout in the debut issue of O Scale Trains Annual.

Yeah, there are some of the buildings Rufus shared on MTJ!
I just ordered a copy of the magazine. White River Productions indicated that they will send me a copy after it gets printed.

Martin was a very talented modeler for sure and enjoys it to the max.

Marty and I had our moments. He liked/likes early 20th century steam, in particular the CVRR. He took exception to me posting about a modern (50's) steamer and the fight was on! He always lamented that no importer had ever produced the "Yellow Kid". Hang in there Marty, you never know! Very knowledgeable about traction.

I've watched a few episodes of the New Tracks Modeling channel on YouTube where Rufus has a scratch building segment. On the first one I saw, he inadvertently displayed his screensaver with one of the vinyl clad hotties on it which I thought was pretty funny.

It also occurs to me that we haven't heard from Murph in quite awhile either. I hope all is well with him.
