Rental car giant Hertz on Thursday said it will sell about 20,000 electric vehicles from its U.S. fleet.
The offloading of those EVs will cut the company’s global EV fleet by roughly one-third, Hertz said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The rental car giant said it would allocate funds it gets from selling the vehicles toward purchasing more internal combustion engine vehicles "to meet customer demand."

The company joins other would-be Tesla competitors such as Proterra, Lordstown and Electric Last Mile Solutions, which each went bankrupt in the past two years after depleting cash reserves, fundraising hurdles and production challenges related to global supply-chain issues stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic. Chapter 11 bankruptcy is a reorganization process that allows a business or individual to continue operating while restructuring their debts.
During reorganization the 360 mile range Fisker Ocean is selling for $35,000 to $37,500.
That range works for getting to and from the cities I visit frequently.
Columbia - Louisville 103 miles x2 = 206 miles round trip.
Columbia - Nashville 131 miles x2 = 262 miles round trip.
