The automakers should have made a standard plug right from the start. Just like in '96, when OBDII came out for the vehicles PCM communication, the FED mandated that the connector and at least 3 or 4 pins in the connector had to be standard SAE, ie, power ground, and bus so that not just dealerships but all repair facilities could get access for repair, no matter who's scan tool they're using.

I think Tesla is promising by this fall to open it's chargers to all brands. I know at my church we put in a couple ChargePoint stations a couple of years ago. They've been well used since then.

Yes & no did Tesla. Free depended on what model you bought and then also later when you bought it. Pretty sure they discontinued that as well.

Without an idle RPM of a gas engine my Bolt will creep forward at maybe 1/2 mile a hour with the slightest touch of the throttle.

Ford is adding Tesla charging tech to its electric vehicles
Fords will be compatible with the Tesla Supercharger network
https://www.foxnews.com/auto/ford-addin ... c-vehicles

Ford and Tesla are teaming up.

The rival automakers, currently competing with electric SUVs and soon to meet on the battery-powered pickup battlefield, have announced an agreement that will allow Fords to use Tesla's Supercharger network.

Ford CEO Jim Farley joined Tesla CEO Elon Musk on a Twitter Spaces broadcast Thursday night to announce the deal.

Starting in 2024, Ford will add more than 12,000 Superchargers to the 10,000 public fast chargers that are already integrated into the BlueOval Charge Network, which allows for plug-and-charge capability through the FordPass app.

The Supercharger network uses a different plug design than the more common Combined Charging System (CCS) plug Fords have, so owners will need to acquire an adapter that is being developed by Tesla. However, the next generation of electric Ford models will switch to the Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) as standard equipment.

Read the comments in both videos and you’ll see what most people really think about EV’s. I’d guarantee first time ev consumers will go back to gas powdered engines after owning one unless they have deep pockets or love to frivolously waste money.
