I got banned from trains.com
I can't even read it. I made a post a few days ago about the virus, I thought it was not contriversal in any way but Otte deleted it and gave a warning to everybody and I thought I was OK. Several years ago I also did something that caught Otte's eye, I cant remember what but again it was very minor. And a week ago or so they were talking about another forum I didn't know about and asked what forum that was and that line got deleted.
Other than that I have been trying to think what I might have said and can't think of anything.
CTT seems like a dying forum and magazine, current issues are only 66 pages and pretty well the only thing of intrest is if they do a feature of a nice hi rail layout. I wasen't going to renew my subscription.
And the only thing keeping the forum going is their Coffe Pot, that's mostly what I read and posted in and particitation there is slowing way up.
I was so happy when CTT 1st came out as OGauge RR was mostly scale 2 rail back then and MR would have only a couple of Lionel articles a year, other than that there was nothing and I mean nothing.

Not a place I would go back to and IMHO you're not missing much.

In the past I can't recall seeing any complaints about CTT. from the MTJ members like they do about OGR. I guess nobody goes there.
I used to subscribe to CTT from the 80s when I first found them at a train shop. Gave up around 2002. But I also gave up on all magazines back then.

A quick note from your friendly neighborhood (and usually hands-off) Forum admin.
It has become impossible to discuss COVID and the vaccine without it becoming immediately political. Therefore, any discussion of COVID, its origin, the vaccine, treatments, etc. is prohibited on these Forums. Any discussion of that topic will be deleted and those who don't get the message and insist on bringing it up will be banned from the Forums.
As you were. Smile
Followed by:
Another quick admin note:
If you think your code words are clever enough to slip political content past the admins, go ahead and try. But your use of code words proves you know what you are saying is against the Forum rules and you chose to violate them anyway. So if you fail, you will earn a permanent ban.
This warning comes too late for at least one Forum member. Learn from his mistake.
I used to write for Clambake. They got so strange, I am SO glad I do not any longer.
They lay off staff in all departments, dump extra work on those left, close magazines....and good old A C Kalmbach's legacy.....they want to sell the paid for property and rent elsewhere. And re-brand to Clambake Media.
Good read on employee (and former employee) opinions:

It's okay. They'll be gone soon.

Re: I got banned from trains.com
I knew quite a few folks there at clambake. Every day they wondered if they'd get called to the front office and canned.
Every time that happened, no new folks, just distributed the workload among the others.
I tried several times to get them to delete my account, nothing ever happened.
Maybe, if I can find my old log-in again, I can go in and mention China Originated Virus Induces Death and get thrown out for good.

Bet you can just click on forgot user name and they'll email it to you.
Getting kicked off might be fun except that they will still have your info............

Re: I got banned from trains.com
yeah....but....AL the info is phony....many, many years ago.
Require a phone number?
202-456-1414
I'd have to check, I think the address is in Saskatoon.
E-mail a throwaway reserved for political BS and mandated e-mail address.
They get....nothing.

That's what you get when you use an old system; new ones require validation of contact info - fail to validate and account fails to exist.
And, since yours is fake unless you know the user name and password, it might as well be dead already.

One good thing, if I had to get banned from any of the forums I reguarly go on it would be that one.
