New Member Approval

Postby rogruth » Mon Apr 12, 2021 12:12 pm

There is a post on MTJ by herronpeter that is a layout by a friend who has been waiting to get approved to be a member of MTJ for sometime?
I can't find that post now but do wonder why the person has not heard from anyone about his membership status.

Herronpeter posted a video from the other person.

Maybe this is why we haven't had any new posters for awhile. ???

It's a little strange that I am the only one posting on a topic that I started. So I assume that most MTJ members really don't want anymore members.
Personally I would like to see our newest member "smartest man on earth", or something like that, replaced by someone that has an interest in MTJ
other than criticizing something on MTJ and not posting again.

Your first post is a little confusing? Is he trying to become a member here or OGR?

If here who does the approval? I agree if we have folks waiting to be members they should be taken care of quickly.

We are rudderless here. I believe some money was set aside to pay for bandwidth and that is it. Nobody really checks in to see how things are. It took about 6 months for me to get approved and that was some years ago.

Brain was not in gear. Here. MTJ.
I don't post on OGR and seldom even visit there.
I fixed it. Now it's probably more confusing.

Well, this being my favorite forum, I'd be willing to chip in some $$ if it will really help. The problems I know of are the photo hosting section has been full and needs to be purged. I know many years ago it was purged and the crying and moaning was extreme. But, better to lose photos that are buried and years old than not to be able to post new and/or more relevant photos today.

It's also pretty hard to reach a moderator, although I have no idea how thankless that job might be. I had to have E7 contact a moderator for me about a year or two ago when something changed on the forum and I could no longer sign in. Even at that, it took weeks to correct the problem.

There were/have been a few heated exchanges on the political front I was sure would have been ‘moderated’. We may have a moderator but he/she is not very active in over seeing the goings on of MTJ.

Moderation here is very light and only in a few select instances in the distant past has it been at all evident.

I've had the impression, all along, that this forum has been kept alive out of respect for its gracious founder, as well as outright kindness to us, and that if we could "play nice," and not need monitoring much beyond self-control and self-monitoring, we could continue to connect.

That is, we are still here because we have been conducting ourselves reasonably well.

I’m with UP148, where do I send my Bitcoin?

As to the potential new member Roguth mentioned, I understand his approval is forthcoming.
