I seem to care because he has become an embarrassment to the country, as well as to himself , even though he appears unaware of that diminishment .

Kind of doubt that will happen.

I am way more interested to see where Biden will lead us.

Hard to say given all of the obstructionists that have already lined up.

Obama once said. Never underestimate Joe's ability to F things up.

He's going to have to work really hard at it for 4 years to exceed any 1 of the previous 4 years.

I hope they took a wall-to-wall inventory of the stuff in the White House. I suspect some portion of it will end up in Florida.

You mean like what the Clinton's did.
Remember the Clinton's said they were broke when they left the White House.
Forbes reports Trump’s net worth as of July 9 at $2.1 billion, making him the first president to be a billionaire.

Trump took $1 per year of his paycheck The rest was donated.......

Clintons Return White House Furniture
https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=121856&page=1

W A S H I N G T O N, Feb. 8, 2001 -- Former President Clinton and his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, have sent $28,000 worth of household goods back to Washington after questions arose over whether the items were intended as personal gifts or donations to the White House.

“We have been informed that it is being shipped back, and the National Park Service is ready to receive it, take possession of it and take custody of it,” Jim McDaniel, the National Park Service’s liaison to the White House, said Wednesday.

After they were criticized for taking $190,000 worth of china, flatware, rugs, televisions, sofas and other gifts with them when they left, the Clintons announced last week that they would pay for $86,000 worth of gifts, or nearly half the amount.

Their latest decision to send back $28,000 in gifts brings to $114,000 the value of items the Clintons have either decided to pay for or return.

Doubt it.

I recall reading that during year 1 that a lot of the furniture and decor was declared unacceptable by Trump and family and that most was put into storage (there's a lot of stuff in storage...) and all new was bought at our expense.........fortunately that may or not include a gold toilet.

According to news coverage and White House news releases, Trump has written checks equal to a quarter of his $400,000 annual salary every quarter to various government agencies:

2017

Q1 National Parks Service
Q2 Department of Education
Q3 Health and Human Services
Q4 Department of Transportation

2018

Q1 Department of Veterans Affairs
Q2 Small Business Administration
Q3 National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism
Q4 Department of Homeland Security

2019

Q1 Department of Agriculture
Q2 U.S. Surgeon General’s Office
Q3 Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health
Q4 Department of Health and Human Services

How much did the Obama's donate.???

Not sure I'd believe the White House news releases as anything remotely credible; also claimed to donate millions to the VA which never got delivered.

No idea. Comparing apples and oranges, you are. What was the net worth of the Obamas when they went into the WH vs. Trump? I'd wager at least 2-4 orders of magnitude in difference. Have to put comparisons into to proper perspective for them to have any real meaning.

You can google it like I did What I quoted came form USA TODAY.

The Obama's.

along with the six-figure pension all former presidents receive — have significantly contributed to the Obamas' net worth, which is at least $40 million, according to a 2018 GoBankingRates estimate. The New York Post recently pegged their fortune much higher, at $135 million.

They just bought a $15 million dollar mansion on Martha's Vineyard for a vacation home. Apparent;y they are not afraid of the water rising on the east cost because of climinate change

Insignificant compared to what the secret service cost the taxpayers for present and past presidents and family ,,,

And which is also yet again something entire different. Quite a few past presidents have actually officially foregone such protections, too.

Exactly. About the only thing they didn't take was those God-awful drapes that Trump dug out of storage and hung in the Oval Office.
