SOME OF OUR brilliant POLITICIANS

Orators of the Democrat Party –from the DISTANT PAST

“We are all born ignorant, but one must work very hard to remain STUPID!” ~ Benjamin Franklin~ (1706-1790)

“One man with courage makes a majority." ~Andrew Jackson

“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." ~Franklin D. Roosevelt

“The buck stops here." ~Harry S. Truman

“Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." ~John F. Kennedy

But wait…Here are some of the Democratic Party's orators MORE RECENT GEMS:

“It depends what your definition of 'is' is?'' ~William Jefferson Clinton

“Those rumors are false. I believe in the sanctity of marriage" ~John Edwards

“Gorsuch isn't fit to serve because he uses law and not emotions." ~Kamala Harris

“What difference does it make?” (re:Benghazi) ~Hillary Clinton

“I invented the Internet." ~ Al Gore

“America is, is no longer, uh, what it, uh, could be, uh, what it was once was, uh, and I say to myself, uh, I don't want that future, uh, for my children." ~Barack Obama

“I have campaigned in all 57 states." ~Barack Obama (Quoted in2008)

“You don't need God anymore; you have us Democrats." ~NancyPelosi (Quoted in2006)

“Paying taxes is voluntary." ~Sen. Harry Reid

“Homicide is the leading cause of murder." ~Rep.Sheila Jackson

“No ordinary American cares about Constitutional rights." ~Joe Biden

“Having an abortion is no different than having one's tonsils removed." ~Elizabeth Warren

“Owning guns is not a right. If it were a right, it would be in the Constitution." ~Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (2018)

“Bill is the greatest husband and father I know. No one is more faithful, true, and honest than he is." ~Hillary Rodham-Clinton (Quoted in1998

“You have a business, you didn’t build that. Someone else did!" ~Barack Obama (Quoted in 2012)

“Social Security has nothing to do with the deficit." ~Bernie Sanders

“My fear is if North Korea nukes us,Trump is gonna get us into a war." ~ Maxine Waters……2017

I am adding Nancy Pelosi’s most recent quote:“You need to vote for the Democrats otherwise the illegal aliens will lose their rights~ Nancy Pelosi……2009

And the most ridiculous gem of wisdom, from the “Mother Superior of STUPID": “We just have to pass Obama’s Healthcare Bill to see what's in it." ~Nancy Pelosi (Quoted March in 2010) (As one Doctor said: “That is also the perfect definition of a stool sample.”)

Beyond a doubt, the greatest statement of all was made by the Democrat House Speaker at the first Congressional session after Ted Kennedy was caught, on camera, having sex with one of his aides on the deck of his yacht “Ah see that the good Senatuh from the great state of Massutwoshits has changed his position on off-shore drillin'." ~ Sam Rayburn

Ya gotta love politicians, an endless supply of wisdom…..and you voted for them.

Hilarious. Betcha the other side of aisle is just as good....or is it just as bad? Either way, they are all pretty inane characters.

Thanks, but you really do mean an elected or appointed official.

So you want to categorize all civil servants as such then? Sad......since the overwhelming majority are just regular folks just trying to the best they can generally in a less than optimal situation taking a lot of crap from the ignorant masses.

No, but it would take too long to list the ones that are Bozos. Most of the names on the "orator" list would deserve notice.

Perhaps in the beginning they were regular folks. Once immersed in the culture they become as zombies.

Little do you know.......which is what perpetrates both mythology and ignorance.

Benjamin Franklin was not a "Democrat". There wasn't even a "Democratic Party" for him to be a member of.

Most government employees are no different than their counterparts in the private sector. There are good ones, mediocre ones, and bad ones. Distribution is about the same in both cases. I spent eight years working as a Federal employee (Army Corps of Engineers) and 95+% of the work force were honest and hard working people. They came to work every day and did their jobs to the best of their ability. I also worked briefly for a large private firm and a small private firm. Most of my working career (about 33 years) was as a staff member at a large university. The later was almost a hybrid of government/private sector.

To me, the least desirable environment was working for a small commercial company (about 20 employees). They paid very little and the make up of the work force reflected this (not a normal bell curve in terms of skill sets). The next least desirable was the large private company. We had 1000+ employees and a fair amount of nepotism and work rules that encouraged incompetency (both sides, labor and management). My time spent at the COE in federal service was very similar to my time spent at the university, maybe a little more "rigid" as we were still part of the Army and worked under military as well as general government rules/regulations.

The difference, of course, is that in a private company it is possible to fire the incompetent or non-productive...unless, of course, they're protected by Affirmative Action.

Or nepotism or cronyism or a bunch of other ism's. I saw more incompetent/non productive employees in the private sector than I ever did in the public sector. The district engineer's (full bird colonels) that were in charge of our office had a very low tolerance for incompetence. You screwed up and you had to answer for it. The large private firm I worked for had a lot of dead weight and no one in charge was going out of their way to trim the fat.

It's just as possible in the Gov't, too, despite the mythology that folks want to believe. In fact, over the past 20 years it's gotten a lot easier since everyone is hired provisionally and can be cut loose in the 1st year w/o any cause at all.

My experience in the private sector differed very little.
