WoW, talk about solid and built-to-last, that gym looks like it's ready for anything. Pennsylvania stone has staying-power..

Everything but a wrecking ball.

It's gone, built in 1902. There is a photo of the interior of the gym in the college during WW1 with the female students working out and a caption indicating they were participating in roles normally performed by men due to the war effort. As the college expanded the need for the land exceeded the value of the building. Timeline notes several new building going up as the college expanded while the older buildings were demolished.
Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

Wilson was a 100% women's college until 2013 with a few exceptions. School was on precipice of closing down, too. Opening up to co-ed probably saved it.

Your old pictures, particularly of bridges and streams, appeals to my wanderlust. I just got my car back from having it thoroughly tuned-up and ship-shaped. All I need, now, is the guts (ignoring my actual gut  ) to launch myself out there into Pennsylvania and Upstate, NY, once again. In fact, anticipating a Spring-Summer of adventure(s) , I am completing, tomorrow, with a final visit to my attorney, my Will and Testament, including naming my Executrix, etc. Gotta be practical.

Chambersburg seems to be a nice, interesting town.

I was just crossing Rt 11 east of Chambersburg going through Scotland last Sat. Came across the Timmons on 641 to 997. Always a great visual drive through there. Come on out for a visit!

Guessing that it's April 1917 in Chambersburg...heading to the train over at the WMRR station next to Millers Hotel.

The feeling(s) of those men leaving and of the folks bidding Farewell must have been beyond words to describe or explain.

Yes! Both #1 and #2 of this RR were of good lines and form.
