Is It Just Me...?

I've been participating in numerous discussions over at the O Gauge forum, mostly about issues people are having with their latest (and often expensive) purchases.
I will often add lines like "to each his own" or "no offense intended", yet it seems like it's MY posts that either get deleted, or as in the most recent case, the thread gets closed after I have to post an explanation about my previous post.
Sometimes I wonder if anyone over there actually reads my stuff, or just reacts to it?
Anyone here find this to be the case, or "Is It Just Me?"

Might be useful to post a link that closed thread.
Maybe drop using the "to each his own" - just a bit snarky - or "no offense intended" since some read that to mean that it sort of is intended
Then again, I don't worry too much about the irrational and inconsistent behavior patterns that OGR embraces all too regularly. I have too many better ways to waste my than to spend much time there.....

I agree with Rufus....don't apologize for anything, or they might think that there is a real reason that you are doing it, apart from just trying to be polite. I also agree it would be helpful to see examples.
My suggestion would be, if it bothers you, stop posting there.
Sometimes it is obvious that SOME of the people commenting have NOT read all of the thread, particularly on those that consist of 3 or more pages.

All too often, some have not read any of it at all! Then again, some also failed their reading comprehension exams.....

I haven't been on OGR in over a year. Not as much fun as the early days of the train wars and watching those that were frothing at mouth waiting for Tony Lash to post the latest shiny objects from MTH. They just had to have one and a year later it was up for sale as they were now chasing the next shiny object.
And the ones that were spending thousands of dollars for them and having to hide it from the wife as they sneaked it in the house. yep those were the good old day's...

I am reluctant to imagine a
grown MAN
allowing himself to be in such a "position." Isn't that what a liar does when confronted with a domineering MOTHER ? Ugh. And Ugh.

It's interesting what comes up, when someone mentions hiding train purchases from one's spouse.

One of the things that causes a lot of hate and discontent on OGR (my opinion of course) is an ongoing list of links to threads where the most recent posts have been made. This list of links appears on the right margin of every thread. The problem (again opinion) is that this list does not denote the forum that the post was made to, and people that don't know the content of the thread, or the forum in which they have landed, get involved thinking that they know what is going on, when in reality. they don't know squat.

It's what an immature child does............and it potentially speaks volumes as to what kind relationship might exist. Factor in all of the joking that goes along with such posts, you really have to question the developmental levels of the posters that frequent that forum.

Isn't that the truth.
I mean, who gets married to sneak their way thru life! I thought marrying was about sharing and truth, the exact opposite of being a sneak.
The only time "sneaking" occurs in our marriage is when one of us brings a gift into the house, undercover, and stores it until the moment of surprise.

I absolutely agree.

What I found amusing about the "hiding from the wife" posts was how many of them were said in jest, but the holier than thou crowd had sticks so far up their rear ends they couldn't recognize a joke when they saw one. The same folks were not capable of enjoying a movie because there was a train featured for a few seconds that had some period-related or other detail wrong. Nerds. Gotta love em!

Should I check for sticks?

No. Homeland Security will handle that for you....
