Year's End is a time to look back and forward...

One of the significant things I see when I look back, through 2018, is the sorrow of our having lost the kind and generous provider of MTJ, Bill Lango, and the continuing privilege of this vehicle for these conversations we have, here, on such a broad variety of topics.
There is not a single voice on MTJ that I am not happy to have met here.
Thank You, everybody involved.

Well, I finally got the General project to a state of completion where I felt comfortable posting it. It's still not painted, lined and lettered, but I kinda like it the way it is. The molded yellow color is cool.
Now, I'm working on a set locomotive similar to the one from my 1973 Milwaukee Special set. There have always been things about that engine I disliked, so I've gotten rid of those details. One thing is the compressor housing on the pilot deck. Another is the Belpaire firebox. Ultimately, it will just be all black, as it was originally. But I'll post it before it's painted, so you can see what I've done.
I don't know what my next project will be. I have some partially completed projects, such as an MTH old-time ten wheeler, and a trolley. However, I'm kind of chomping at the bit to do a full scratchbuild.

I agree.
And, this has been the my 1st year retired from my primary employment and career (sort of....just had another patent issued in Nov.) while also picking up 2 very different Editor positions that keep me busy. I've also had a fairly productive time on my layout and building a host of cars and structures. Still clearing out the excess to sell and whittling down while filling it all back up with newly built stuff.
Friends and family have come and gone and another year looms before me...... We'll see what that brings forth.

Hi v8vega, I don't understand what that means here. I read it this morning before I went out, and I have just re-read it now, that I am returned, and I still don't know what you mean.

I think there are many with different political views on MTJ.
BUT we usually find ways to get by that. That is one way that
many use a hobby and have fun.

I don't really know. But I have suspected, except that what commercially-made piece would have been made to look that badly?
