Today's the day. Seems every election is more important than the previous.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While walking down the street one day , a Corrupt Senator was tragically hit by a car and died.

His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem.
We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you.

"No problem, just let me in," says the Senator.

"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven.

Then you can choose where to spend eternity."

"Really? OK, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Senator.

"I'm sorry, but we have our rules."

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator , and he goes down, down, down to hell.

The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse, and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They played a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne.

Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes.

They are all having such a good time , that before the Senator realizes it, it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises.

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, "Now it's time to visit heaven...

So, 24 hours passed with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing.

They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

"Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity."

The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell."

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell...

Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.

He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above .

The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders.

"I don't understand," stammers the Senator. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage , and my friends look miserable. What happened?

The devil smiles at him and says, "Yesterday we were campaigning......Today, you voted.."

Vote wisely!

Hit the polls this AM in a downpour, figuring I might buy a break from the predicted crowds. No such luck...line was at least thirty-five people. If the prognosticators get nothing else right, at least they called the turnout.

The truth is often revealed in a humorous way.

Politicians on the campaign trail:

2 Corinthians 11:14 King James Version (KJV)
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

And then we elect them and realize...

1 John 5:19 King James Version (KJV)
19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

I intended to go early but don't make it until about 2:30. Amazingly there was a parking spot directly in front of the entrance. A few people in line inside, but I proceeded to the voting screen (of which there were several), cast my votes and was out fairly quickly. I noticed this strange yellow orb in the sky.....it was the sun! Not sure if they all went early, or were just a steady flow. Living out in the sticks might have helped!

Should have taken a photo..... There was no sun in central Pa where I was yesterday; only rain and more rain.

The election couldn't have gone much worse for me.
We now have a extreme far left governor.
3 out of 4 bonds passed.
A parcel tax gets added to our property tax.
A while ago out legislators rammed through a gas and car registration increase.
The people got enough signatures to get a repeal on the ballot.
This is forever, a lot of money, the Democrats went into full attack, spent tens of millions and also they get to write the ballot title and made it very confusing, so the repeal failed.
If I wasn't so old I'd move, many middle class are fleeing the state.

I pulled up the PA election results on the net and it proved to be very informative. The race for Governor was decided by Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. They alone comprised the winning margin of votes. The winner won 17 of 67 counties.

Something needs to be changed, but good luck getting it done!

I was listening to the PA advertising Mon/Tues; seemed both candidates needed a good flogging

Counties voted - I thought people voted? A lot of Pa is open territory, so the numbers of people voting in some is very low.

What were the voting numbers?

I suggest we start with the incumbent!

I didn't have time to list all their names....you're retired, you do it!

I don't think it matters - I found both to be repugnant. Therein lies the problem - we end up with two candidates at opposite poles while what we really want is something far closer to the middle, and then we are stuck with........

I'm not a PA resident anymore ......

Thanks - I think you managed to overlook what was basically the entire eastern portion of populated PA, the areas surrounding Harrisburg and Erie. What goes on with Dauphin Co.???

When I hear reports like this I don't understand who votes for this nonsense. Obviously, I don't know for sure, but it sounds like they take money from those who have it and give it to programs for those that don't. Is that about the gist of it?

When I read stuff like this all I see is sour grapes from the far opposite end of the spectrum while all the folks in the middle get screwed over by both ends of the spectrum. Just another example of two minority groups at opposite ends screaming at each other while the majority in the middle gets run over again.

As for CA, just waiting for it to fall into the sea, burn to a crisp, or get washed away in the mud..... It's not too bad a place to visit, but I'm still perplexed by the desire to live there.

If you take the votes cast for Wolfe in Philly and P-burgh and flip them to Wagner, he wins. That says to me that those two cities controlled the election.

Pa's governors flip from reps to dems. It has probably been a 50/50 mix over the last 24 years. I got a paper in the mail saying "wolf was an independent candidate." Just one more bs flyer that got mailed out.
