If that bear is broadly omnivorous , maybe it’s after the marijuana now legally available in N.J.

I bet it would rather have a 5lb package of BACON.

I think it's more scratching the itch after not enjoying the go.

Yes, that was local news in our area, about which the news stations gave advice concerning how to react personally to such an intrusion and assault.

I have a feeling such encounters are going to increase.

I think the advice provided via that link you provided here , part of which cautioned about not making eye-contact with a bear, was particularly instructive to me, since I am sure if I were ever approached by or encountered by happenstance a bear, I would have made a point of exhibiting direct eye contact. So, thanks to you, I would try to avoid such an attitude.

Washington mom saves toddler running to hug black bear
The toddler's attempt to hug the black bear was caught on security camera

The dangerous brush with nature was captured on a home security camera, which captured a brief glimpse of the bear cub as it scurried along the Martins' backyard fence. The baby bear had been snacking on birdseed after destroying the family's bird feeder.

"It was just a little baby bear, but my biggest concern wasn’t necessarily the baby bear so much as I didn’t know where the mom was and didn’t know how she’d feel about two humans running towards her baby," Martin told the local outlet.
