RIP - Malcolm Young

Postby healey36 » Mon Nov 20, 2017 4:21 pm

Saw these guys back in '85 or so...couldn't hear for three days afterward. MY wrote most of their stuff and was content to stand to the side and watch all hell break loose up front. They were something.

Land down under will never be the same. Like Daltry sang so long ago, "Hope I die before I get old."

So long, mate...thanks for the tunes.

And the older brother, George, who was the band's producer passed away in Oct.

Going to be a bit quieter in the world.

I think the world of rock can't wait for this year to be over. 2017 has taken many.
I spend entirely too many hours a day tying my shoes

2016 was no prize either - face it, the people that made the music we listen or listened to are old!

AC/DC lost Bon Scott in 1980 after a hard night of drinking. I always liked Bon Scott better than Brian Johnson. To me Scott had a better range of vocals and put on a much better performance. He could really strut his stuff. Of course Angus can really strut also with that guitar. Who would have thought that a guy dressed as a school boy would have retained that signature look all those years.

I always thought this was one of their best songs. Bon Scott can actually play the bag pipes

Most people associate AC/DC with just Australia, but they were all born in Scotland.
