Has anyone tried the new Firefox Quantum and what is your opinion of it especially compared to other versions.
Thank you.

I just updated FF and it turns out to be "Quantum"; I hope that I did not make a mistake. :( Oh well, FF has the capability of re-loading an older version if I so desire.

I just removed Quantum and replaced it with 56.0.2 (the previous version that I had) as Quantum "lost" a few features that I particularly liked in older versions; especially the "page refresh" button in the address bar. Other than that, it worked as advertised and was fast; especially on Facebook.

Thanks, Dave.
Since I am almost an electronic Luddite I think I will keep what I have for now.

I just "upgraded" the Firefox browser on my computer, and the
"Refresh Page" is still up there on the top left-hand side of the
address bar, right alongside the "Page Back" , "Page Forward"
and the "Return to Start Page" icons...but then again, I run a
distribution of Linux, and I have noticed when talking to others,
that my computer programs may differ somewhat from the
Windows versions. Cross-platform programs don't necessarily
mean that they will be totally identical!

Don't yet know if it is an "improvement" or not...they seem to have
jiggered some of the elements and done away with others.
Sometimes I think they make "improvements" just so that the
programmers can justify their jobs (but then again, I am somewhat
of a cynic    )

Wolfgang,
I don't know why anyone today would be a cynic.

TV Guide recently changed their listings page. I used to be able to look at the primetime listings on one page; now they set the time based on when you click on the page. They have arrows that will take you three hours forward or back. So, you have to look at two different pages to get the primetime listings, unless you wait until eight o'clock - at which time your show is already on. Damn them.

FF 12.0, last known good. Works great, don't need Mozilla's permission to load add-ons.

I have not found it to be a significant change....................................yet.

Their upgrades tend to be marginally disruptive as opposed to the insanity of IE and that family of miscreants. I am stuck using Office365 webmail for my new editor position. Even the people that work for the company admit it's rubbish.
