Not all Fukushima train stations are closed.

The one pictured, Ōno Station, was opened on 22 November 1904. The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of the Japanese National Railways (JNR) on 1 April 1987. The station was closed on 11 March 2011 following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster.

I think the image you posted of Ōno Station is the best "Waiting for the Train" post in a long time Rufus.

Here is another, not as good, but same theme, "waiting for the train that never comes."

Perhaps, but last I checked Fukushima was closed.

Interesting. Not the information I have been given regarding Fukushima; was supposedly still 100% required evacuation and unsafe to live there.

More misinformation, I suppose.

Did you see?
In order to open the "cleaned up" sections of Fukushima the Japanese government raised the allowable exposure from 1 mSv annually, an international benchmark, to 20 mSv.

Wow, that's pretty high. Near the levels around Pripyat near Chernobyl.
Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

I'll do that the day after she acquires a smidgen of humility and stops peddling.
