A women trapped in the expectations of others cries out for help and all you can do is denigrate and deride -- now there's a defining sign of the times of this country's attitudes towards others. It’s easy to believe that no one should depend on others for help when you yourself happen not to need such help.

It wasn’t her neediness that I found nauseating, it was her apparent (to me) self-absorption that made her unattractive to me. She seems largely self-centered. I don’t detect an interest in others, just in herself.

Of course, such an estimation by me is superficial since I have not had conversation with her. I’m just going by what you presented , a few moments in time , capturing something.
