Sounds about perfect to me, Jon. One suggestion, though. If it was me, I'd go with the TRW replacement of what was the Z-28 High Pressure oil pump in place of the Melling high volume. Unless you put on a bigger deeper oil pan, a high volume oil pump has the ability to literally suck the pan dry (at about 5000rpms) before enough returns from the top end. We ran these pumps on race engines and in 4WD pulling trucks back in the '70s and early '80s and never had a single problem with an oiling system. One more thing, do a little polishing on the top sides of the heads from the rocker stud bosses down to the oil drain holes in the head, and chamfer the tops of the holes. This creates channels for the oil to run back down quicker.

Set 'er down in the hole, light 'er up, and hang on!

Sweatin' my *** off most of the day so, I went down to the Bird-in Hand Fire Co. and got me a barbeque chicken dinner. (To lazy to fire up the grill tonight.) They do this every Memorial Day weekend. It's there fund raiser for the Fire Co. Ya git a half a bird, cole slaw, chips ,pickels, apple sauce, roll, cupcake, whoopie peanut butter pie and a ice tea. I pass on the tea and had my own drink......................... ...........................7 bucks for the whole dinner...........................

Matt oiling the 20HP Bessemer oil field engine. The engine house was finished this year for the show.



A few of the stationary engines that were running today. These guys brought 'em in from Greensburg and Plum Borough, the closest to the camera is a British Bamfords 2 1/2hp engine, the middle is a Canadaian Robertsonville 4 HP, and the fartherest is a 16HP Galloway.

We have 6 mini steam traction engines running and 3 full sized engines under steam, about a bazillion gas tractors, David Bradleys out the wazoo, and a whole lot more.

Too bad you're missing the Nearly Universally Famous Chickentown Chicken Dump!
