Vextors? Vectors? Went runner sledding today. Wicked fast! You should have seen D dropping down the slope into the icy birchy tundra. WOW! That girl can sled. She has the New England heart.

Wayne! You keep killing me with these vehicles! El Caminos and now the GPS. Dani Pedrosa and I are the exact same height and weight, but I got the Vector thing up the Wazoo! Well, who knows about his vector. Maybe that's why he keeps laying back, too much percentage of the 113lbs up front?

Hey Wayne (Webenda),

NowRuz Mobarak!

For the rest of you hobos, that means "Happy New Year". This is the Persian New Year.

Jahan is in Tehran caring for her very sick, elder mother. Of course, there is not a minute that goes by that I am not thinking "God spread love and protection around my most dear wife who has been a gift to me". It was a grave decision for us to have her go there at this time and in that atmosphere. Like many elder people, her mother is set in her ways, stubborn, and doesn't want to come here. She does not know English and will never learn. Since the revolution, Iran has no infrastructure for the care of older people and the burden of such care falls on the extended family.

There are a few holdouts in the family that have not come to the U.S., Canada, Sweden, or Oz. Jahan will be able to spend the New Year celebration with them in the country of her origin, such as it is. The usual venue is a picnic, but this year is quite cold in Tehran. In the meantime, I am missing the candles, mirrors, newly grown sprouts, Bible, fruit, that usually appear around the house in various places at this time of year.

The Persian New Year is a time of renewal. Get rid of the old, get something new. Middle class families of limited means usually buy new shoes. Cast off doubt and depression, exert effort for a prosperous future.

San

Ps: Oddly enough, Iran has trains. somewhere, there are about 33 U30C's running around.

San, we'll place the hobo good-luck charm for her safe return. Are you alone in the house?
