Hobo Jungle
We're closing in on 10,000 posts. How could a bunch of drunk hobos with leaky tin cups and leaky brains write 10,000 posts? [Pete, no offense to the cups that never spill a drop.] I feel like we should have some kind of celebration. Any ideas?

I think Jon should post the ultimate pulsing rejoicing final train picture of all time with full frontal nudity (tracks, tracks!). After all, how often does a thread hit 10,000 posts?
Toast? Don't hobos toast in their hearts to the inexplicable wonder of being alive with every sip, or not?
Bob, thanks for the thought, but I think it's nicer to leave it to chance because every hobo here makes this jungle what it is. It kind of has a life of its own. That's what I like about it. No one seems to be able to kill the thing though some have certainly tried. We've weathered the storm but will we ever drink in peace? Who knows, right? But we drink anyway. Because we're hobos. And we have tin cups that will never leak no matter what our damn brains do. And those whistles . . .

Hey folks! We had our annual board meeting and dinner in Jasper In. last weekend for the French Lick West Baden & Southern RR.
Along with the business stuff, we always have a guest speaker.
This year we had "Gypsy Moon" her Father was a real life honest to goodness Hobo.
She ended up going to Indiana U and doing a whole resurch paper on the REAL Hobo's and the only bo's she'd interview were the old timers!
We had a silent auction and her "paper" was turned into a hardback book titled "Been and Done" with a Hobo walking stick and a Actual Hobo cook book!
I bid on this stuff and won it!,,,,now,,the cook book is a little paperback about 12 pages long of Hobo food, it's really neet to read!
I'd like to share it with you all here Page by page.
I'll scan and post a couple of pages as time permits,,hope you all enjoy!

As we approach the ten thousandth post, A hobo salute to Tramp for making this the best ride of all time!! And certainly to Bill for allowing us to make camp here. I've met some of the best of train folk, talked on the phone with many, and even had the delight to visit a few in person!! WOW!! How this forum can become a bridge to friendship!!
I'll pass on the honor 10,000 post. I'm more into letting the winds of fate come knockin'. I hope to live long enough to enjoy my 10,000 beer with you all!!!!
Bring on those recipes, Penn!! And I'll get us all another round!!!!
