Beautiful work on the ice.

My New Year's Eve project.

Image

In the upper middle are six images I took. Between that and the liquid refreshment is a proof of the panorama
I stitched together with PhotoStitch. Below that is the scaled raw image.
It came out like this (printed with plain old MS Paint):

Image

After some work with the office paper cutter and some glue, I will use it
as a backdrop on the DennisB hanging frame. (Dennis, I tried painting
stuff. Sky and clouds, abstract office buildings. I am just no damn good
at it).

Now these are for Trampy.

Happy New Year, you hobo's.

Happy New Year, old friends.

Spent the day with my daughter in the Keys and capped it off with fireworks over Miami harbor, as seen from the end of my little island.

In talking with Dennis today (the only hobo not hung over), he said he had no idea the ice obelisk was the size it is, so I said I'd put up another shot.

Will, thanks or checking in as you do. Happy New Year.

San, thanks so much for the shots. The backdrop should be wonderful. How fresh was your Dutch beer? We're drinking 6290s.

Tramp, the very best to you and Daisy. I gather from the pictures that you pinned the ice blocks together to get a structure approximately 10' tall? No doubt the most unique sculpture the local judges had ever come across. Must have been truly beautiful in person. I do miss the mental focussing powers of a good New England winter.

Thanks, Jon. Happy New Year to you and your family. I feel almost like I know you from this forum and the efforts of our mutual friend Pete.

Willy!!
Happy New Year, bud!
Thanks mucho for the book. Absolutely fascinating reading!!

(That Elizabeth is a total babe!)

Tramp, that obelisk is incredibly more impressive to realize it in scale.
Holy Sh*t!!! 8)

Will, you should've seen my buddy balancing on the stepladder with the final section and only a few minutes on the clock. Sadly we didn't have time for the final piece and a tad more finishing and adjusting. Sawing through the ice simply took too long. You're correct about the pins and the height. Water glued the ice in place once it was together. It was all learning and guesswork as we were ice virgins.

Happy New Year to all hobos, drunk or sober, north or south, long-horned or short, poet or prophet, wiggly or piggly, ice virgins ice virgins all of us! Well, except I suppose Tramp and I lost our ice virginity together. It was quite the obelisk.

[hev: obelisk - n, towering mysterious pole-like object]
[pete: the little glowing critters are lovely really, i guess it's just that this year it seems everywhere i turn around a few of them are following me]
[will: did you used to live up here? we switched places, I used to be down there. not sure the effect on my brain yet. the obelisk is i'm sure even more than 10' tall! way more since tramp himself is about 12]
[dennis: you looked killer as a pirate!]
[j$#*(#%&#*&$@nnnnnnn!: where are you!!!?!! i'm in on the pirate rum drinks with you!!!!!]
[andre: prospero ano nuevo gosa gosa!]
[mitch: i'm on the bus too!]
[webenda: i'll take that bottle third row down fifth from the left, thank you!]
