Ah yes, the Thanksgiving Day Running Drink Count. Too bad the forum doesn't support some graphical widget that works something like a gasoline pump gallon meter. Each time she sends another screamer down the hatch, our vagabond presses a key and the Drinkometer here in the forum is incremented for our viewing pleasure.

Tramp, if I don't get the layout cleaned up enough to take pictures I am going to send the damn Atlantic to you. Somebody should run it. I have an eight foot stretch cleared out for a sanity test of the thing, but it can't even get its stride in that space. You see, it all started when my new idea about elevated track converged with one of DennisB's notions about hanging background scenes from the ceiling. The layout has looked like downtown Baghdad ever since...

Haven't heard from Jon since Sunday. Hope all is well down there. I know they had some real hefty storms there Tuesday.

We got nailed this afternoon by the same storm. Lots of flooding going on here.

Dennis,

The hanging backgrounds are going to be fine. It was a very good idea. Trouble is, I took this on as a mission. I won't be happy until it is done right. I get in a mode where I have to do this stuff. In the meantime, trains won't be running through Baghdad.

pps. also, I think I can take Tramp's mom this year in the Irish whiskey contest. I know I can. I think. No - I know!

Whoa, Daisy! Whoa-ho-ho-ho.
Hoo boy. I call that bold talk for a slim Southern lass. Already the doubt, the wavering! And Mom with her hollow leg, cast-iron liver, and steely glint in her one good eye.
Yer done fer.

My money's on the Irish octogenarian.
Daisy gonna go down in flames.

Where's yer money, hobos?

Now, I realize that I'm a few days late, but, Tramp and Daisy, aren't younz from the state that allows women to mow their yards topless?
I'm all for fighting terrorisom in this manner!

As for Thanksgiving traditions, I'm getting ready for a few myself. A Trip to New Oxford Pa. for the semi-annual model train auction and annoy the auctioneer night.
(Conewago model RR clubs fundraiser auction. New Oxford Pa. fire hall, Thanksgiving eve. If you are in the area, stop by, tis a GOOD time. Look for the old field jacket with the stripes on the sleeve)

Opening the Stonycreek Valley tonight for the Laurel Highland's Model Railroad Club's operation season.
I'll have some of the cars from John Armstrong's Canadaguia Southern running, all the other layouts will be running (we have everything from Z to G).
Address is 103 Main Street Somerset Pa.
Come on up and see us!

Old age and gile will usually win over youth and exuberance, but I am going to take a long shot and put my money on Daisy.

Tramp's mom is 85 this year. Keep that in mind, but she's been training hard. She usually has a wine going by 10 or 11 am and then moves into the whisky by afternoon. She's basically a master at after-dinner drinks. She sobers up with a rack of beer when she feels herself sliding. I believe her Thanksgiving record was around 14 varied drinks.

Daisy on the other hand . . .

Slowly a sound started to build in Lardass' stomach. A strange and scary sound like a log-truck coming at you at a hundred miles an hour. Suddenly, Lardass opened his mouth. And before Bill Travis knew it, he was covered with five pies worth of used blueberries. The women in the audience screamed. Bossman Bob Cormier take one look at Bill Travis and barfed on Principal Wiggins. Principal Wiggins barfed on the lumberjack that was sitting next to him. Mayor Grundy barfed on his wife's tits. But when the smell hit the crowd, that's when Lardass' plan really started to work. Girlfriends barfed on boyfriends. Kids barfed on their parents. A fat lady barfed in her purse. The Donnelly-twins barfed on each other. And the women's auxiliary barfed all over the Benevolent Order of Antelopes. And Lardass just sat back and enjoyed what he created.
