:shock: Beyond beyond.

It's only fair - peanut butter cookies have peanut butter in them; chocolate chip cookies have chocolate chips in them; oatmeal raisin cookies have oatmeal & raisins in them.....

Weren't those GS cookies made by the Lector company????

Another candy bar that had a dubious start, at least in my area, was "Reese's Peanut Butter Cups." I can recall kids complaining that the spaces between the curved edges of the two round "bars" enclosed in one wrapper was the gyp part, with chocolate being absent from those spaces. However, once we got to tasting the two cups, that missing space was soon forgotten about, and we reached for that peanut- butter-n-chocolate flavor medley often.

Even back in my prepubescent days I realized that looks were deceiving, and those net weight figures meant something!

Now that you mention it, we were able to understand that aspect of shoving candy in our faces, too, at least being able to count, even if we didn't quite feature what grams and ounces actually indicated, but we still suspected something shady. We were that skeptical and questioning of authority.
