Ask, fellow Bo's and Ye Shall Recieve.
Now, the favorite place for the Shop Crews for the Stonycreek Valley to hang out at is Rachel's place in Johnstown (BTW real place, for years a good amount of Bethlehem Steel's payroll wound up there...)
Any, one of Rachel's girls happens to be a railfan, and Shelly takes time to inspect all new motive power on the SVRY.
Enjoy boys!

The SVRY shops. Please ignore the mess, OSHA would have a FIT it there

As I said earlier, several details were off of it when I got it, so I tried my hand at soldering 'em back on.
I have to remove the low-nose headlight, and fabricate a fuel tank.
I was looking at my Atlas SD-35, the fuel tank contours are right, and the size is the same, so, I'll use it as a pattern.
Paint will be Chessie tri-color (I already have the decals 8) )and the running gear (for now) will be a pair of old Atlas F-9 2 rail trucks with the worm gears removed. Yup, she will be a dummy for now.
P&D carries the Weaver drive components, plus they also carry brass Blomberg sideframes, so, it wll be all brass when it's finally done.
The guy I got her from (the girl came from Scenic Express) also had another GP-35 shell, as well as an A-B set of Sharks! If I run into him again, those Sharks are coming home with ME!!!!
Got the coal drag! I have been hoarding Weaver hoppers (coal cars to those of us with Blue and Gray running in our veins)
The RS-3 is to be paired with a Weaver RS-3, the GP-35 is being paired up with an SD-35. I saw a lot of that combo whenI was a kid, a six axle and four axle combo picking up from the mine tipples.
Sometime, I want to get a photo of the old Rachel's Place, maybe model it in O scale.
Except for the smell. Old timers tell me it had the odor of fish....

Which modular club?
I wasn't planning on doing 2 firehall meets in one weekend (still frozen from sleeping in that damned Wal-Mart bag last night, yeah, she saw it!) but, the chance to meet another Bo, well, ya twisted my arm...
See, there's 3 shows within a week of each other at the end of Oct. beginning of Nov. Altoona on the 28th Bedford on the 29th and Cumberland Md. on the 4th on Nov
That could be painful...

ANG,

We are called Fort Pitt Hi-Railers. Named after our local TCA Div. The show is on the 29th and at the Pinecroft exit. Thats the best I can do for directions. I'll have better directions after York. I think they have another show near the PRR museum in a mall the same weekend. Why are you skipping York?? York is the last show I would skip.

Anymore, York is the same people, same stuff, and recently, with the politics of the org., I really don't need the drive across the state for a sore back, getting ignored (or treated rudely) by NJ accents, feet trampled, and looked down on, because I am not a purple or orange foamer!
Am I getting jaded? You betcha!
I went to Timonium last weekend, wide isles, no "York Shuffle" old friends from the NMRA were there, and I was able to stand and BS with folks at their booths with out being trampled.
Oh, yeah, I almost forgot, no announcements asking for "A Member of the standards Committee to Report to the Silver Hall Paging desk" every five minutes!
I go to the Jeep show there in July, I can't walk the grounds with out hearing that anymore.

Hev, damn bro! Great pictures. I can all but smell that stuff simmering, the wood smoke, the warm grease from the engine, and that farmland autumn, and feel that cold snap in the air. Sorry I missed it.

In the meantime, up thisaway, Fall has befallen!
