New Chevy Equinox starts at $30k; however, I confess to having no real faith in GM actually delivering a reliable product of any kind.

Why not fuel it in your driveway? It could use a tank similar to a bbq. Grill.

I think a fuel cell is more complicated that just a tank of hydrogen.

Given the idiocy that some embrace with propane tanks, I would expect multiple Hindenburg events to transpire almost immediately.

Making hydrogen can be relatively easy, but this use in vehicles is using hydrogen fuel cells, not direct hydrogen.

Fuel cells area little more complicated: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_cell

Toyota's U.K. operation has now swapped the Mirai's 182 hp powertrain into a pickup for evaluation. It is using a Hilux, which is a truck available outside the U.S. that is similar in size to the Tacoma.

The fuel cell is mounted under the hood and three hydrogen tanks below the cabin, since a driveshaft is no longer needed. A single electric motor drives the rear wheels.

Toyota is also exploring the simple burning of hydrogen in an internal combustion engine, which emits water vapor instead of carbon dioxide.

It has converted the 268 hp 1.6-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine from the GR Corolla sports car with high-pressure hydrogen injectors and installed it into a Corolla Cross subcompact SUV for testing in Japan.

Rival Honda recently announced that it will be offering a hydrogen fuel cell version of the CR-V SUV in the U.S. for the 2024 model year.

No production plans for either Toyota has been announced, but Toyota is working on something even more exciting.

Toyota and Yamaha are jointly developing a hydrogen V8. (Yamaha)

Good info - I think a lot of people do not realize that there is an electric motor driving the wheels when a fuel cell is employed.

That's been kicked about for years but maybe something will actually get to the finish line?

Wonder where you will get refueled - Honda dealerships? Can't help but imagine what the DOT will want on crash test integrity of the hydrogen containers.

Funky.....just what you need in your Celica

up till this point I thought a cars motor would burn hydrogen for fuel. Hence me saying" Why not fill it your self? And if i had the car i would probably dream about doing it anyway. Yes the whole thing works a a lot different than i had imagined.

I have watched a few youtube videos on Chevrolet Bolt's which is considered to be one of the best low cost electric cars, compared to a Tesla. Your driving experience is the same as comparable gas cars which cost thousands and thousands less.

2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV Pricing: Available in two trims, the 2023 Bolt EV lineup starts with the 1LT and a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $25,600, plus a destination charge. The 2LT comes in at $28,800.

Average new gas powered car is $47,000.

Clearly you need to go back to grade school and learn some 6th grade math.
