Looks like that restaurant that kicked Sara Sanders out.

Sure and she would try to order food from a barbershop

If you were/are a resident of that town you would know that is the barber shop.
But if you were new to the area how would you know? However it's a beautiful piece.
I like Murphs idea for nearby buildings.

You could ask the barber out front or maybe look & see the barber chair through the window - there's one inside that filthy window. You don't need a sign in this small a town that can only support a 1 chair barbershop.......that also sells a tasty aftershave to the town drunk.
However it's a beautiful piece.
Thanks! I think that the structure is actually a re-cast of a Thomas Yorke kit - got it in a box of other goodies in a ziplock baggie that sat on the shelf for too long. I have too many of such kits and should really either build them for the fun of it or just sell them off

In fact, the shortest of these shops on the main street of Homer, NY, reminds me of your little barbershop (after renovations were completed to spiff it up a bit.) Your shop would fit right in.

Like a total rebuilding in red brick?

In Pa. Barber's have poles. No barber pole means you're a salon or hair stylist not a licensed barber. You may be modeling an era pre barber's pole law.

How 'bout this? I'll change the sign to read: "Rufus's Rough Cuts"
P.S. That's good ol' Wayne (note: hat and trim physique) standing out front, giving that guy cleaning his car information on when the car was built and how, and which wax is best to use, the effect suspended particulate matter from the smoke from nearby steam engines will eventually have on the car's finish, and the source of that specific darker blue....etc.

Pre-20's...and in that county they only started enforcing building permits about 15 years ago up where my place is located. Time runs differently in some parts of PA; some parts are still pre-20's...........

Re: Structures & Scenery
In my area many speak of today as if it is the early 20th century.
IMHO that is when they would like it to be.
Young persons think they are right on top of everything but if
questioned, most are mid 20th century at best and many are early
20th century. Again IMHO, the Jukes and Kallicacks may have been
genetically advanced compared to some in this area.
If they figure out who the Jukes and Kallicaks are you may have
heard the last from me.
It is difficult to explain why and what I like about this area.
I no longer try.
