Murph,
Thanks for bringing this topic back. I missed it the first time and it is fun.

Several points. We have been a two dog family for some time and when one died about a year ago we decided to not get another as we are getting
old and still had one. My youngest daughter had a dog, a Sheltie, that died from cancer and took my wife with her when she went to pick up a rescue
dog she was getting. She sent me a photo of my wife holding this part dachshund part chihuahua. To make it worse it is called a dapple. It is black with grey on its body with its face, legs and butt black and tan. It looks like it is dressed in camo. When I saw the look of happiness and joy on my wifes face
I had to tell her she could get it when she asked if she could.

I would never think or consider replacing my wife with a dog or any animal under any circumstance nor would I ever suggest that to anybody.

I appreciate the feedback, Roger. It's good to get your perspective on this.

As I am trying to figure who I am now, and what's left of me, pet lizards don't seem like they will be part of my move forward.
However, Thanks for the smile, Rufus.

Get a nice big monitor and you won't be troubled by varmints.............or neighbors,

BTW, it doesn't pay to dwell on that activity.

I think I've mentioned this before, but I came home once in the summer to see a guy nailing a sign to the utility pole on the corner of my property, "Lost, six-foot Iguana, answers to Barney...if found please call XXX-XXX-XXXX)"

Yes, properly prepared lizard tail (especially Iguana, the islanders called them chicken-of-the-trees) tastes quite good.

If a joke, seems like a lot of trouble to go to. If a mistake, a lot of effort wasted.

A goldfish is a great therapy pet. Just about the time it's completed it's mission, it dies!

Watching Neon Tetras and Angelfish was always a nice peaceful diversion and maybe one Betta. Haven't had an aquarium in decades, but back in the late 70's, after putting the toddlers off to bed and having a drink and a smoke, watching fish in a tank was pretty cool, especially listening to ELO or another sonic band of the day.............with only tank light on........until you came back to reality and thought WTF am I doing.
