Now, you know why I can't chat. Not, that there was ever any question.

Oh, Tokyo.
They got some saki, and sashimi, and some clean sheets.
Oh, kimono! Kimono!
Tokyo's the town that I love the best.
East may be East, and West may be West.
Forget about the twain, it'll drive you insane,
and teach you things you never knew before.

Good choice, Roy, pertinent and every thang. That li'l ditty is exactly the kind of tune I could hear good ol' Rufus taking part in, especially with lines like,
"Forget about the twain,
it'll drive you insane,
and teach you things you never knew before."

 IMHO, of course (!)

Wouldn't he be the guy in the middle of the photo you posted, leading the singing with Hawkeye and Trapper ? He was a temporary , short-lived character on the show.

Loudon Wainwright had a recurring role in one season playing Captain Calvin Spalding

James Wainwright was in an episode as Colonel Bingham Lacy

In a somewhat parallel note addressing the insanity and stupidity of war, I understand that Catch-22 is being done on Hulu......

Hooray for Captain Spalding,
the African explorer!
"Did someone call me Schnorrer?"
Hooray, hooray, hooray!

He went into the jungle,
where all the monkeys throw nuts.
"If I stay here, I'll go nuts!"
Hooray, hooray, hooray!

He put all his reliance
In courage and defiance,
and risked his life for science!
"Hey, hey!"

Hooray for Captain Spalding,
the African explorer!
He brought his name undying fame,
and that is why we say:
Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!

He is the only white man
who covered every acre --
"I think I'll try and make her"
Hooray, hooray, hooray!

He put all his reliance
In courage and defiance,
and risked his life for science!
"Hey, hey!"

Hooray for Captain Spalding,
the African explorer!
He brought his name undying fame,
and that is why we say:
Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!

I am rapidly beginning to believe that the H&G channel was created by Satan to foster a cult and to kill people through addiction.

Not at all. I'm seeing folks getting addicted to it just like they do to Starbucks coffee.

The shows about micro-homes are weird. I don't even know if HGTV shows those. It's not on my favorite channels list.

Thank You, very, very much, Roy, for sharing that updated perspective on Notre Dame with us here. That is very thoughtful of you, sir.
