This was on Amanpour & Co. tonight(Thursday, 4/18). Sal Khan started by helping a cousin with their homework, online. Many thousands of students benefited from his posts. I remembered his story from a previous interview on 60 Minutes.

I noticed on tv recently that one of the major channels (CBS ?) is threatening to present a colorized retrospective marathon of the Lucy shows/programs.
Ugh.
I do not recall ever laughing even once, not even as a goofy kid, at anything she ever did, not even the chocolate factory assembly-line.
Now, somebody wants to do a couple of hours of her noises and silliness? I'll pass, but of course if anybody finds Lucy funny, I would certainly respect that. She's been amusing to a whole lot of folks for a long time .

I agree, with the exception of the Vitameatavegamin ad. But then, I've been spoiled by the likes of Sam Kinison, Andy Kaufman, Chevy Chase, Eddie Murphy, etc.

OK, I must confess, I do recall smiling at that one.

Sam Kinison
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Kinison
On Friday, April 10, 1992, Kinison died at the age of 38 after his white 1989 Pontiac 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am[ was struck head-on on U.S. Route 95, 4 miles (6.4 km) north of Interstate 40 and around 15 miles (24 km) northwest of Needles, California, by a pickup truck driven by 17-year-old Troy Pierson, who had been drinking alcohol. The pickup truck crossed the center line of the roadway and went into Kinison's lane. At the time of the collision, Kinison was traveling to Laughlin, Nevada, to perform at a sold-out show.
Kinison was found lying between the seats of his car at the scene of the collision. He was not killed instantly, according to his brother.
His brother and the others begged him to lie down and he did with his best friend, Carl LaBove, who had been in the following van, holding his head in his hands. Initially, Kinison appeared to have suffered no serious injuries, but within minutes he suddenly said to no one in particular, "I don’t want to die. I don’t want to die." LaBove later said, "it was as if he was having a conversation, talking to someone else, some unseen person." Then there was a pause as if Kinison was listening to the other person speak. Then he asked "But why?" and after another pause LaBove heard him clearly say: "Okay, okay, okay.’ LaBove said, "The last ‘okay’ was so soft and at peace ... Whatever voice was talking to him gave him the right answer and he just relaxed with it. He said it so sweet, like he was talking to someone he loved. Kinison then lost consciousness. Efforts to resuscitate him failed. Kinison died at the scene from internal injuries. An autopsy found that he had suffered numerous traumatic injuries, including a dislocation in the cervical spine, a torn aorta, and torn blood vessels in his abdominal cavity, which caused his death within minutes of the collision. Malika Souiri, Kinison's wife, whom he had married six days earlier, was rendered unconscious by the collision, but survived the accident with a mild concussion.

I didn't think you would figure it out, but there are those that will.

I'm not piping-in here until I read what contrasting viewpoints Wayne and Rufus could, not doubt, express on the point(s) you are making, Hondo.
However, if you've ever heard (which I sincerely recommend highly ) Josh Daniel sing Labrinth's "Jealous," in his audition on "X Factor", then you'll have the direction from which I would be coming in interpreting your reply.

I'm with ya, Murph! I never found her funny. Instead, she was silly, and I can't handle silly. Other comedians like Steve Martin and Jim Carey make me hit the clicker at lightning speed. Martin was always so silly on SNL that he'd make me ill.

Analyze this.
Like Mitch, I found Lucy in all of her shows to be silly.
On the other hand Carol Burnett was a comic genius.
I ued to add that these were just my opinion but someone
pointed out that anything somebody says is their opinion
unless it is a quote.

I wasn't really trying to make a point. That was Roy's conclusion. So what was it I found interesting that others might pick up on. I was left with the impression that upon Kinison's death he was communicating with our creator.
Quote. This part.

How would you interpret that Murph

Maybe the creator didn't think it was funny.

One of my favorite Kinison performances was his first appearance on Late Night with David Letterman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_VURr6jnWQ
For those that don't know, Kinison was previously a Pentecostal preacher. So was his father, and brother.
I agree, about Carol Burnett. Ellen DeGeneres's stand-up is very funny.

There's a new documentary in theaters, titled Apollo 11. I mention it, because it consists of never-seen-before footage from the time, some of it in 70mm. I saw clips of it on an Amanpour & Co. interview with the film's director, and was quite impressed. See, for yourself:

That turbo Trans Am is a pretty rare car, same engine is in the Buick Grand National I think. Now it's destroyed.

Was Bob Hope ever actually funny?
How about Jack Benny?
Clarabelle ?
The Marx Bros. ?
I did kind of enjoy "Heckle & Jeckle". What happened to them , could we say, officially ?
"Daffy Duck" used to make me howl in enjoyment, mostly because when being hotly pursued , he would turn around and kiss the pursuer on the face, then say, "Wha-hooo-Wha- hoooo!!!"
