Using tax payer dollars to build fabulous stadiums for the billionaire team owners. :(

Yes! it is a great investment for a city. If the team goes away so does the revenue.

Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity where an individual or group provides services for no financial or social gain. Why would they be taxed. If they were paid. then tax them.

That's the way it works. However that is from a conservative point of view.

The liberal viewpoint would be like AOC killing the Amazon deal in NYC that would have brought in millions of dollars in revenue.

Not sure why this is a liberal view - but I am not in favor of tax breaks to Amazon or Sports franchises. Let them compete on a level playing field. So to speak.

The case of Amazon and New York: Seems a number of folks got concerned about what happened in Tech Hotspots in California and Washington. The Tech giant came to town, and in a short time, all the lowcost housing and small stores were gone. So many of the workers had to live outside the immediate area and commute longer distances for one thing. AOC and others did not want that to happen in NY.
IIRC :-)

Philly offers these incentives to the average Joe also. Take over a run down building and start a business. they will give you tax breaks. In most cases the city will maintain the exterior if you maintain the interior.

New York has a $13 billion deficit. Maybe Bloomberg will bail them out.

The idiots in the White House announced that masks will now be required. Duh. Trump won't wear one, true to form. He should be aware that being old and obese are significant risk factors for death with this virus. Maybe he will also go out blindfolded to play in traffic too :). Of course, then we get a few months of Mike Pence, another dunce. I know Obama and Clinton weren't perfect, but at least they didn't get us involved in any new wars, and the economy did well under both. Better than under the "businessmen."

Clinton was the only one to leave the WH handing off a budget surplus that was immediately squandered.

Obama spent 8 years trying to rebuild the economy after 8 years of that squandering and reckless abusive spending.

Clinton didn't have to deal with the events of 9-11 2001. And if would have taken out Bin Laden when he said he should have maybe things would have been different....

Clinton was still president in 2000 during the Dot Com bust.
In March of 2000, one of those things came to a crashing halt. The dotcom bubble, which had been building up for the better part of three years, slowly began to pop. Stocks sunk. Companies folded. Fortunes were lost, and the American economy started to slip down a slow mudslide that would end up in full-on recession.

During 2001
Under the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001, most U.S. taxpayers received a tax rebate between July and September, 2001. That was to help with the recession created by the dot com bust...

What Did We Learn From the Dotcom Stock Bubble of 2000?

We didn't learn anything because the American people were still to stupid to comprehend mathematics and we had the Housing bubble that put us into what they call the great recession :(

Clinton was too busy in the oval office to "blow" the surplus.

He must have learned something.....bought a $4,000,000,000 house on Martha's Vineyard!

On the other hand, buy a bunch of crap, get in debt, and they'll come along and bail you out!
