A couple of years ago. Somebody did a story about Kennett Square crime. Basically if the mushroom farm workers were to call the police. Kennett Square would have the highest crime rate per capita crime rate in Pa.....

Are you certain about that? What about: Philadelphia; Duquesne; Ambridge; Aliquippa; Darby ( crime rate 106 o/o higher than national avg.), to name just a few leaders in per capita crime rates. (See video: "10 Worst Towns in Pennsylvania," by "World According to Briggs.")

IMHO, the lower the number of jobs available, and therefore low or zero income, the higher the crime rate. With the mils gone, most everywhere in PA, what hope is there for a good and a safe life?

Kennett Square would have the highest crime rate per capita crime rate in Pa. All the farms have undocumented workers living 3 families per small trailer. It get real stressful with those conditions. Too top it off the farm owner chargers a lot for rent on a trailer. Most of the occupants need to work a second job. Extortion rape and beatings take place daily. In these little farm communities. True or not? I don't know. It was played up as a real hellhole.

Sounds like a sweeps week rating story - unless things have really changed a lot recently in Kennett Square.
