Automatically for you? You mean your secretary?

Run your photos through Paint or Photoshop or a host of other available software options - there are web sites that exist that you can use to resize photos. Avail yourself of one of the possible myriad options!

You are missing the point. Doesn't the server automatically reduce any oversize as it uploads?

No, I'm not and no it doesn't.

The OGR Forum site does.

Bully for OGR,

I can take the drawn out time to leave the forum, upload to another server, resize photos, find the link address then come back here, but, that is kinda like Festivus Enteruptus. Posting directly from my computer to the forum saves a lot of time and keeps me in the mood. It is a nice feature to have.

Takes about 30 sec to a minute to resize in Photoshop or Paint or using that on-line re-sizing site I posted a link to a while back. If you do that, you can host here if you choose. Another 30 sec to host elsewhere with another tab open in Firefox at teh same time. If your train of thought is only a a minute long, does it have a caboose?
Your body is not a temple. It’s an amusement park. Enjoy the ride.

A buddy of mine who's a teacher in Japan sent me a stack of Kyosho kits for the holidays. At 1/64 they're a bit small, but they sure are nice, and fun to assemble. First up, Ferrari SA Aperta in yellow:

Not much more than a pre-painted die-cast body, plastic interior, rubber tires on plastic wheels and metal axles, all held together by a couple of machine screws. There's a few F1 Ferrari's in the stack...looking forward to those.

Mostly Ferrari's, but a Porsche or two and a couple of Nissan's. I've seen a few Aston Martins and Lotuses before...I sent him a note to do better, hehehe... Some of these I think are given out as premiums by DyDo Drinco, a Japanese drink company. They're fun... I gave most of them to the kids next door...I'll bring you a sample out of the next batch...hopefully he can find us some Brit stuff.

Thanks for the help with those old decals, BTW. It took forever but I finally got them off. A mixture of MicroSol and Palmolive did the trick, along with the edge of an old credit-card. I tried one of those Mr. Clean Magic-Sponge things, but that seemed to soften the paint. Got a replacement set of decals...I'll get those applied and give it an over-spray of Testor's clear gloss. Lots of small chips and scratches in the paint, but I'm leaving those alone. I'll post some pic's when I get done with it.

Nah! not for me, too many jello mold sportscars, wouldn't touch any Italian motor no matter who makes it. Best 3? The Mercedes SSK, the Bentley Continental, the Corvette Sting Ray. Runners up the Duesenberg, the Morgan Aereo, Shelby Cobra.

What no E type? Lose the chrome trim, fair in the headlights and then its beautiful but otherwise not.

You must not have made it to the end of the list, Mike...the E-type was #1. Personally I'd have an XK120/140/150 over an E-type. But I agree, it's a bizarre list...

Three of their top five don't interest me in the slightest. Of the other two, one would be too "scary-money" to enjoy. The other, the E-Type, is one of very few cars I'd just have to say screw how much it costs and drive it anyway, its that pretty. I'm not a purist so it could be a later mark with the open lights and I admit being a boor and thinking the hardtop is a much prettier car than the roadster. I'd still have the roadster for the soundtrack, though.

Most of what is shown is either too expensive for me to feel like it could be fun, the value or the maintenance would put me off driving it and I won't own a car I can only look at, or does nothing for me as a driving experience. Again, I don't collect cars. I want a drive. That probably explains why I like cheap old Brit cars with play-value, a few dings, and honest history to them, and a concours muscle car has no attraction for me whatsoever.

For pure appeal, how can a Mustang, Corvette, or a (choke) Gullwing Merc be remotely sexier than a GT40? Good God! And what moron would put a Miura (the prettiest Lambo) so low on the list, outranked by an effing Range Rooney?

One piece of Italian iron shown I would have, without question, and that's the Alfa Spider. Cheap, brilliant fun, and I have a car to rely on so the play-value trumps the Italian-ness.

Whatever is wrong with me? I'm a petrolhead, not a car collector.

Sarge,

I feel the same way about model trains. I won't have one that I would be afraid to run because of the cost.

It's actually a 351 Ford Cleveland bored out 030 thou to 357.
I mated it to a two speed powerdrive and the diff had 3.9 gears.
I had a line locker to lock the front brakes on the line once I pressed off, the photo shows the result.
It was a fast car I built most of it myself including the engine and I never blew it up I broke two valve springs once and they were supposed to be the best quality the engine stayed together but I had to strip the whole thing down to clean the broken springs out I was lucky.
All the speed equipment for the engine was American.
I handpicked the con rods out of two sets had them shot peened and polished then X Rayed for any faults. (I found a few!)
The oil system (a weak part of those engines) I rebuilt/modified completely and solved the problem.
It had a 600 vacuum secondary Holley for the carb the cam I have forgotten could have been a Harman and Collins but it was perfect for the engine.
It had very high compression so I had to run it on AV Gas as the ordinary petrol wasn't high enough in octane. (Don't ever believe what the oil companies tell you about Octane ratings it's not true)
When I drove it on the street I changed the rear gears back to 3.00 gears and filled the car half with petrol and half with AV Gas to save on running costs.
It cost A$25,000 dollars to build 26 years ago the engine parts were very expensive.
I had a saying once, everytime I looked at the car it cost me a thousand dollars.
I had another Hot Rod at the same time the wife drove, it was a channelled A model roadster (I Loved them) it had a 289 Ford Windsor engine it was a very sedate car except it was black with flames all over the front of the car, the wife used to drive it to her Quilting classes all the women wanted a ride in it!
To me the only colours for a Hot Rod was red Or black. That's just me.
I have very limited photos of that car I didn't have a camera for a while probably couldn't afford one having those cars!
I don't have anything to do with cars now I keep away from them I never go to shows and never have the urge to go fast nowadays I drive a little Ford fiesta.
It all finished long ago I moved on.
The chassis for the second car before we put the body on lots of chrome!

I don't remember enough about these things to make any kind of intelligent comments. So.
