This past July at the Watkins Glen Vintage weekend, Jaguar brought along some of their F-Type-R's and allow the public to wring them out on an autocross course set up on one of the empty tarmacs. The F-Type-R has a 550hp supercharged V-8 and all-wheel drive. Your were escorted by a professional driver in the passenger seat. After a recon lap, you were allowed to flog it all you dared. All of this was free of charge, but, you could only do it once each day. I must say that this ride is one cool kick in the butt!!!

My second day, I was fortunate to have Roberto Guerrero as my co-driver. What a nice guy his is! There was one F-Type-S 380hp supercharged V-6 there too. Roberto commented that they had driven the V-6 S version faster around the tight course than the V-8 R version!

Good looking car and driver both, there Jim. Not surprised that the six eats the eight on tight, slow, and twisty. The eight hasn't really gotten its teeth in when that six is already grunting with the turbo spinning away at the speeds we're talking. It's a low end o' the curve thing- Grin!

27 November and a lovely day. Who'd a thunk it! Out with the B today even though I'm feeling a little under the weather still. These kind of days have got to be about gone here, but will take 'em as they might last! :D

Back over to the farmer's market this morning on a luffa search...on the way in we spotted this early '70's Biscayne out on the lot:

Now that's an honest survivor...no concours parade for this one. I've seen better cars than this being used as a shed. Forty years of hard running in all kinds of weather here.

He should get that headliner fixed though...

Since you guys in Maryland only have to get a car inspected upon purchase and never again, that car doesn't surprise me much!

It's 05 December and we can still have a pleasant drive in the still-saltless environs of PA. Amasing!

Probably not - I was splitting firewood this afternoon......nice red oak that's a pleasure to split. Then I ran into some dogwood. Get the wedges and hammer.....
Your body is not a temple. It’s an amusement park. Enjoy the ride.

Of course it won't, Roger.

I'm having a great time with the gift of a long mild fall, and the warmth will come back in the spring. I enjoy the seasons, even if I suffer some on the cold wet days.

Tomorrow looks promising, too. :D :D :D

Scacey mate.
So this is where your hanging out.
How come you never answered my email or maybe you never received it.
Anyway back to the thread looks like your really enjoying the drives around the countryside and I can see why it's a beautiful place where you live now a few gumtrees and you would have paradise!
Ha, Ha.
Seriously talking about the climates we never have them in Perth it's either Hot or cool looks like your place is like England they have climates as well but here in Perth nope.
Anyway mate any word on the parcel yet? mine is sitting under the pitiful Christmas tree that we have all by itself.
Keep in touch you .....!! Better censor that, Aussie language might shock all the viewers and get me booted off the forum.
If you want to know the word I used ,what happens when you stick a needle in your finger. I'm only joking mate. Ha Ha.
You take care mate and enjoy the weather while you can.
Nev.

Yup, here in "The Free State" it's hard to believe the lax enforcement of automotive condition rules, no jagged metal being one of them. It looks like a car that has spent a few winters in upstate NY at some point...I don't know what they treat roads with up there, or if it's just the sheer volume of salts dumped on the roadways, but whatever, it consumes sheet-metal at a devastating rate.

Yesterday was decent weather-wise...looked like it hit the mid-fifties. Still, you must have replaced Grrr's heater core with a small fusion reactor...my knees wouldn't stand up to the chill. Keep going - I'm looking forward to pic's of the Christmas Eve run...

I gave up searching...just the single pair of stone-guards...looks fairly straightforward. Check the calendar...I can make it up some afternoon and we can sort out the install.

No inspection in Georgia of private autos and pick-up trucks.
Probably is for commercial vehicles but I don't know.

Nev, mate

You're too right; I just went back and looked! I could have sworn I had answered but the record says no. Old age! You should have the response you deserved and I intended in hand now.

Healey, mate

Email me; Tuesday through Thursday pretty much anytime is open. I have a thing or two to pass on to you as well. Looking forward to it. BTW, the heater box isn't even in the car. The footwell warms up nicely from body-heat; not quite so with the B which has so much more leg-room. It's an advantage to Grrr; as you well know you drive a B and wear a Spridget!

Illegal aliens and the desperatly poor are a protected class here because they vote for Democrats so no safety inspections here at all. Since the enviroment and global warming is the Democrats religion we have smog checks for sure.

Well, for those pining for a 356, Joplin's C sold at auction for $1.76 million:

I thought her friends all drove Porsches, but she wanted a Mercedes-Benz...

I hate to make this resemble the "coffee pot" on a different forum but it was lower 80s here today and I hope you
guys to the north are still able to drive the fun cars.
Nice present for this season. Have FUN.

My wife thinks I say have fun too often to people but I am sincere when I say it and do hope that you do have fun.
I am old enough now that it gets a little harder every day to have fun. I do still try. :D :D

The little cars will be out again tomorrow Roger. Sunday forecast for Central Maryland is partly cloudy, seventy degrees, with hazardous air-quality...sounds like early September. But it's December 13th...the weather is crazy. Even if the Arabs stopped pumping we'd still be drowning in fuel oil...nobody's running their furnace.
