Jon, she's in Beantown. May I buy the next round?

Instead a walking stick,
No--a missing haiku.

Icy, icy cold, brother. Luke couldn't find a colder one.

Not sure about Wyeth's humor. Great painting though.

Summer Cocktail Update

Absinthe, three kinds of bitters, healthy squirt of fresh lemon, peel (3), gingerale, lots of cubes in a highball glass.

(Pickled herring and wasabi ponzu on rye crisp bread opt.)

Jon, yup, the Santa Fe was purring like MJ's moon dance.

Glad to here that!! You've got me curious as hell now. Do I find that in the liquor store? What brand do you suggest?

Jon, it's kinda illegal. A certain female who sports legs like BG sent it to me from Spain. Very amazing stuff. Believe it or not it weighs in at 70% alc. But it's the wormwood that makes you crazy. Outlawed worldwide in 1910 or there abouts. Very good for your heart of course. Required drinking for all true poets. Certain painters kept it in a hollow cane.

I
His father descended from kings
(was the last true chevalier).
He possessed wealth and a pure heart,
Fame and perfect manners,
Was a genius and drew like
A hawk swooping for prey—
Yet no woman would have him.
A childhood illness deformed him,
So he kept absinthe in a hollow cane
And begged whores just to hold him.
His great joy was on the sea
Where he flew in his small boat
Like a Greek god running to Olympia.

Check this site for an excellent history of absinthe.
