Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

That might explain why I was having trouble recognizing the scene and buildings!

Wow, that's some good detective work, Chuck. I haven't been to Waynesboro often enough to have realized that the photo was misplaced by LOC (I have been to Mt. Airy, a town about 20 miles south of me, about a bzillion times, yet didn't recognize it).

Guessing the Main St. in Roxbury might now be Rt. 641......

I was trying to find out what happened to the grain towers and stumbled on the link to the Mt. Airy photo. I had tried "driving" down the main street of Waynesboro and couldn't match the street arrangement or terrain and found no links to the bank (I did find one for the Waynesboro, GA). A google image search pulled up the Maryland match.

Bet the "road" is probably pretty in much the same state as the photo.

Not at all. Looks nothing like the photo card today; trees are all gone.

Good paved road that I take over the Timmons from my place to Scotland after crossing Rt.11 and then onto Rt. 81.

Building still stands. It's now the administration building for the school district. Very nice residential area with a lot of large "stately" homes. There is a huge senior high school complex about two blocks away.

Current high school complex.

Was pretty sure that building was still there in Waynesboro; been by there in the past couple of years doing a more leisurely drive home,

Rufus, I keep thinking of the road condition when it rains. Quite a mess.
