Quite frankly, I’m against people who give vent to their loquacity by extraneous bombastic circumlocution.

I marvel when I see examples of craftsmanship like that round building. Probably done without power tools.

The structure is gone but it appears that the path in the foreground is now part of the Appalachian Trail. The actual "gap" is in the background just under the roof line of the structure. The roadway running on the east side of the river is now part of I-80, the toll bridge is just to the left, outside the frame.
Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
Made it race against time.
Once I built a railroad, now it's done --
Brother, can you spare a dime?

Yes, that does look like the area which is now known as The Delaware Water Gap, where traffic crossing between NJ and PA passes , paying a nominal toll when moving westward only.

A couple of decades ago, I used to water-raft along that waterway, even taking my wife along for the adventure and peacefulness of it all. She enjoyed it very much, even howling in laughter when she managed to capsize the inflatable rubber-raft, at one point, when she stood-up. I served a picnic-lunch and champagne out of the car trunk afterwards, which I had backed down to the water's edge down a little gravel pathway off the parking area ; she was very happy.

Slightly different view point but still the same area, circa 1900.

PRR tracks on the Pennsylvania side of the river. Area is still a big recreation area for rafting, canoeing and kayaking. There is a large watercraft livery on the Jersey side just upstream of the I-80 bridge.
