I do not read any reference to the Amos 'n Andy tv show. I thought then (and still do) that it was completely funny. Amos was trying to be something that he wasn't; Sapphire had problems trying to keep him in his place. Calhoun was just too slick for his own good and Andy really was the brains of the bunch. My parents let me watch the show just before dinner.
