Let's see. When it comes to ABC. CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, YAHOO, GOOGLE, THE NY TIMES, WAPO,BLOOMBERG NEWS & THE BBC. they will nail any republican on the cross. When it come's to a democrat they can't find any nails and forgot where they put the hammer.

That is exactly what you get with selective viewing and listening.

Open both eyes and both 1/2's of the brain, and think independently. Distrust all.

At least 3 of those TV networks tore Biden apart last night after the debate and were not at all kind to almost all the rest; fairly harsh in fact. And, pretty deservedly so, too.

The BBC very quietly and just makes fun of the entire thing...while pretending not to laugh out loud. They also are doing a far better job of covering the corona virus although strangely enough CNBC is also doing a better job on that coverage each night. Still holding at ~2% death rate is any of the numbers from China can be trusted.

"Still holding at ~2% death rate is any of the numbers from China can be trusted." Rufus. I still dont understand this whole Coronavirus thing. Lots of hype with low number of infected people. I see videos of hospitals built in 10 days. hear reports of movie theaters closed. Towns quarantined. Makes me think they lied and many 1000s of people are dead.
I spend entirely too many hours a day tying my shoes

So I gather. 2% death rate is orders of magnitude worse than the flu - just move the deaths over 2 decimals from what flue kills yearly and that's what you predict this coronavirus to do easily since there are flue vaccines in use already.

China is actually capable of quarantining its country while the rest of the world holds press conferences......

Makes me think they lied and many 1000s of people are dead.

Pray they are not. If there are thousands dead then this is far worse than imagined, and we are in huge trouble!

If you develop fever, muscle aches and respiratory symptoms, it's likely influenza. Start taking Tamiflu(oseltamivir) immediately. No waiting for tests. May have some activity against this coronavirus according to a few case reports.

Note that Bloomberg is not on the ballot in Nevada. And the figures below do not show candidates who polled at 1 percent or less.

KLAS-TV/Emerson College Nevada Democratic Primary Poll, Feb. 19-20

• Bernie Sanders 30%

• Pete Buttigieg 17%

• Joe Biden 16%

• Elizabeth Warren 12%

• Amy Klobuchar 11%

• Tom Steyer 10%

• Tulsi Gabbard 2%

Margin of error: +/- 4.7%

Las Vegas Review-Journal Nevada Democratic Primary Poll , Feb. 11-13

• Bernie Sanders 25%

• Joe Biden 18%

• Elizabeth Warren 13%

• Tom Steyer 11%

• Pete Buttigieg 10%

• Amy Klobuchar 10%

Margin of error: +/- 4.8%

My half cent worth.

The old saying was something like "we study history so we don't repeat our past mistakes" but we either didn't study hard enough or we forgot rather quickly so history isn't really taught anymore. Now we have social studies, whatever that is. I us "we" to mean people.

I have lived in "The South" for half of my life and "The South" is still fighting that "War of Northern Aggression".
Probably the only thing I have learned from the last sixty five years of my life is don't bother with facts our minds are made up.

I do believe that the users of MTJ are sophisticated enough that our forum will survive these discussions. However I say again
that I miss the discussions about trains of all types. That only seems to happen regularly on the two rail forum.

I agree. And the two rail forum has been very quiet of late.

I think it is gradually becoming apparent to all of us model train hobbyists that we are in the inevitable midst of a big shift in practical dynamics. A large generation of participants is part of a natural attrition in its loss of people, due to Nature.

And young people have stepped into a whole new world that does not include model train layouts and/or collections, no matter how we might try to lobby them.

I am afraid you are correct however at the January train show in Savannah this year there were more young people ( under 40 ) than at
any time in the past 20 years. I will admit this is just an observation that was made by 4 or 5 sellers.

The polls show Bernie Sanders, (an avowed Socialist & not even a Democrat), leading the polls after 3 of the first state elections. And he's expected to win a bunch more. You can only reason that there are no such people as Truman, JFK, or Blue Dog Democrats left. The party has left them, (it's a pun, left, get it?). If it comes down to Bernie or Bloomberg, it's gonna be a brokered convention in Milwaukee, and if the party does more and pushes Bernie out again like the DNC and Hillary did in '16, we'll probably have riots and blood in the streets. :(
If you agree with the Progressives, it's freedom of speech. If you disagree, it's hate speech. There are no alternatives.

Should be an upper age limit to the office - 200+ years ago no one lived that long and so it was not given any thought. We've had too many old pharts for way too many years that are totally out of touch with the people and only in touch with people stuffing their pockets with our money.

Bernie Sanders is not a socialist. Socialists believe that the means of production should be owned by the state. Bernie is a social democrat, much like those who have led Western European countries like West Germany, Denmark, Sweden, etc. for much of the time since 1945. Those countries have, by and large, had much happier and satisfied populations in many ways than our own. Inequality, impoverishment due to healthcare expenses and the inability to pursue higher education due to economic causes are much reduced compared with our "enrich the rich, impoverish the poor" policies mainly the product of a misguided and rigid ideologic commitment to "pure capitalism" that our government leaders have pursued.

Bernie isn't right about everything, but compared with the misogynist, white supremacist sympathizing, plutocratic Republican mainstream, who are totally lacking in compassion, wisdom and understanding of science, he would be God's gift to this sad country. Compared with Donald Trump, a narcissistic gangster with no respect or compassion for anyone other than his own family and friends, Bernie Sanders is Christ himself :). And to top it off, like Christ, he's of Jewish ancestry. Case closed.

That said, I think he's too old to be running the country. But I will vote for him if he's the nominee. Whoever is the Vice President will be a no brainer better human being, intellect and leader than the Mussolini impersonator we have at present.
