Influencers
Re: Influencers
When a person makes fun of virtually everyone in the world (or worse), he opens himself up to the same type of treatment.
I don't like the way the liberal media always goes after him or slants their stories against him, but you got to admit, he's an easy target. He doesn't have enough sense to just keep his mouth shut.
All presidents take ridicule from the other party, but you need to be selective when and how you respond. But, keeping everything in a state of flux seems to be his modus operandi. He's like his own tabloid magazine pandering to the lowest common denominator.

One good thing George W. did, not that he intended it, was make it clear that our government engages in torture. Now that we all know the truth, the better amongst us can work to end it. One good thing The Don has done, is try to stop the technology theft the Chinese are engaged in.

He does an excellent job of painting a target on his back; maybe the best since Gerald Ford and the tripping down the steps....

They don't have to slant stories; all they have to do is report and show what he says and their job it done; political comedians retired 2 years ago since they could not compete with reality.
95% of his problems and issues stem from that inability to keep his mouth shut.
He's like his own tabloid magazine pandering to the lowest common denominator.
And that lowest common denominator fanatically support him w/o giving any thought to reality at all.

We are a year and a half out for electing our next president. Who do you think it will be.
Will it be Joe Biden
Bernie Sanders
Elizabeth Warren
There are several others to choose from,
Since Joe through his hat in the ring he is now leading in the pols
So who do you want to replace Trump ???

None of the above including Trump. Every election the one most qualified person that I can stomach best gets blown out during the primaries anyway. Good candidates that actually respond to and address issues rationally lose early. It's just devolved to being a popularity contest merged with who can tell the best lies about their opposition.

Guess you will just have to put a clothes pin on your nose and vote for one on the liberals.

Sadly, you may be right. Sadly, we will only have 2 choices.
That might be greatest failure of our electorial system in that it fosters this pathetic us vs. them idiocy instead of getting us some folks that actually want to get something constructive accomplished. The primaries have consistently weeded out those folks early on.

Possibility for a third party candidate. Former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said he is seriously considering running for president as a "centrist independent" in 2020. Of course when he came out with that the democrats almost had a heart attack.
I think the DNC already has their mind made up to go with Biden. While he panders to the far left at times he is still a centrist and I think the DNC has it figured out that it will take a centrist to beat Trump. In fact he probably would have beat Trump in 2016 if he had run. Unfortunately the liberals had their mind made up to run a women. They just ran the wrong one.

The Mayor with an alternative lifestyle will win. One kiss from his husband on stage and the crowd will go wild. Trump will make a comment about the kiss and people will say. " he hates everybody"

And I will vomit! I don't give a shit what he does in his bedroom, but don't flaunt it on me in public!
The 'Crats have been payin' homage to abortion, the blessed sacrament of the feminist church. And out of 24 Democrat potential candidates, not a single one has come out against abortion in the 3rd trimester. In N.Y., they've sponsored legislation to allow abortion right up to and including the moment of birth. I guess the doctor will ask the woman "do you want it or not"?, and if not, he'll just stick a hatchet in the baby's head and yank it out. Infanticide will become legalized murder.
Wonder how long it'll be before some 'Crat sponsors legislation for euthanasia for the terminally ill or the elderly? Doctor Kevorkian, call your office!
If you agree with the Progressives, it's freedom of speech. If you disagree, it's hate speech. There are no alternatives.

I think you mean George H, not George W. Other than the barfing on the Prime Minister of Japan he was a pretty classy guy. WW2 vet, relatively polite and sane. A little too aloof which cost him re-election. His son, George W wasn't what I would call a classy guy.
Reagan was classy. I wasn't a big fan of his spending habits at the time but he couldn't tell everyone he was going to drive the Soviet Union into bankruptcy. I really appreciated the way he handled the rather infrequent situations were he or his subordinates f'd up. He took responsibility, apologized to the American people, and then made sure to his best ability that whatever happened wasn't repeated. He had a talent for surrounding himself with exceptional people. We'll let it go at that.
For those few of you whose historical memory goes back to George W Bush

I usually stay away from the whole politics thing here, since its been raging on now for two and a half years with no let up and no-one accepting the other's point of view (a microcosm of the population at large, sadly) but you just hit something near and dear to my heart here.
I've watched my grandmother die of Alzheimers. Gruesome. Her son, my dad, died of the same thing and we spent years on his care as I watched a PHD physicist become a shell unable to function on the most basic level of dignity. I fear putting my family through that hell should I fall victim and that is not an unlikely scenario.
We have religious, legal, and social tenet that somehow has created the notion this is a competition to see who can live the longest and one does not have any option but to compete, no matter what it does to self or family. Bollocks!
I must say I wonder why American society denies me or others who might so choose the same dignity afforded my cat.

Sarge,
I agree completely. My wifes parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles all went through this. She waits in fear. And so do I.
