I remember going to Ft. Eustis for the annual(?) US Army's open house and steam powered (2-8-0) train operations in 1964 and when Dad drove back, he got on I-64, it was almost completed (mostly signage and striping left to do) but not yet open. We got waved at, the construction crews thinking we were some kind of inspection vehicle. Real quick trip back to the Richmond area.

Might have gotten another inch last night, but it's much colder than last week, and the wind is kicking the show abut a bit.

Lots of fox tracks out there this morning, too! We've seen the one red fox out on the hunt in the early hours.

About 4 inches here. we also have a ton of red foxes. Almost every other shed has a den under it. In the last 10 years or so they have made a great comeback. One plus to having so many around is. They hammer the geese population.

Yes, you'll be getting a wee bit more up your way than round here....and it's slowly looking like less & less snow here and more & more rain....

More a concern of trees dropping and power going out than anything else.

Oh, then no, you aren't going to get a lot; flooding may be very real - ground is close to saturated and then with the wind that's in the forecast, trees take out power lines, etc. Out by my house in PA they're looking at 10-16".....

It’s been snowing for four hours and we might have three inches. It’s supposed to move north of freezing before midnight and change over to sleet and freezing rain, then just rain. Took a chance that might actually happen, hopefully washing away much of it and mitigating the need to shovel.

Walked up the road a quarter mile, and I’ll admit it is quite slick. The dog thought I was crazy and she tried to turn me around a half-dozen times before we headed back. Now I’m sitting by the fire with a few fingers of scotch and some warm water, the dog curled up at my feet.

The wind is picking up and the temp seems steady at 25. Not sure what things will look like in the morning.

75 miles north of you it is 27 degrees with a dusting. Just started about 30 minutes ago. 7:15 am today it was 7 degrees outside. I could go for a shot and a beer. But i'll hold off. I may take the kid sledding @ 9:30 before it changes to rain. Maybe i can sneak a hot chocolate with a dad of Sambuca in it. That should help warm me while i drag the sled back up the hill.

Try hot chocolate with a shot of peppermint schnapps mixed in. It’s like drinking Andes candies. After three or four, you start to talk funny.

that sounds like a winner. Andes has changed. they went smaller. So small it it difficult to remove the foil. Taste different also. I don't think the mint to chocolate ratio is the same

10 pm 3 inches and now it is an ice storm. On a side note. An 8 year old girl is smarter than her dad. “ lets go home this ice hurts my face”

Unless it does more in the wee hours, looks like about 3 inches S. Central. Highest temp I saw was 21 . Andes also made an orange flavored version for a while which I liked even better than the creme de menthe, but they discontinued it.
