Jon, your model had the wrong hair color, but the 'trim' job was spot-on!

Between you and San, that was the best laugh I've had in quite awhile. You two are certifiably NUTS! (And that's my professional opinion)

Yeah, Tramp's busy moving his mom to his hometown.
Word has it, the liquor store owner is celebrating.
Now he'll be able to send his kids to college.

Now I've heard of round the world, paw dipping, and flat tailing, but what the deuce is rotating the tires?

Not my place to give away a redhead's secrets, but it does involve taking ahold of my tire iron.

Sure, you knew Alco made locomotives. But did you know:
1940-45
Alco produced 7,362 army tanks; 3,314 M-7 tank destroyers; 2,300,000 shells; 410,000 fragmentation bombs; 2,574 gun carriages and gun mounts; and 4,488 steam/diesel electric locomotives. Employment went from 5,950 in 1941 to 15,500 in 1945. In 1941, Alco built the largest locomotive in the world, the "Big Boy", for the Union Pacific Railroad. It weighed, with tender, more than 1,200,000 pounds, had sixteen 68-inch drive wheels, and achieved 7,000 HP.

Jon, cool site!
Gracias.
I've been diving into the book on firing a steam locomotive. Fascinating.

I'd be trying some 'diving' of another sort, but I'm at work.

It will never cease to amaze me that two steam cylinders can move all that weight, let alone pull a freight drag.
I can't fathom it.

Hobo birthday today!

Yessir, today's the day Ol' Willie popped-out of Mama Hobo's belly, and hit the ground running-for-a-boxcar.
Been a bum ever since. Matter-of-fact, you could say he's a really great bum. Probably the BEST damn bum I ever met.

Hain't seen him in awhile though, and I gotta say, I sure miss those Red Stripes and stogies he always has tucked away.

But when he rides in on the Bloomsburg and Sullivan Railroad, he might as well be the Pied Piper of Orangeville. Suffice it to say my kids adore him, and me and the redhead love him too, (and coming from Miss 'Tough-Sell' herself, that's no small endorsement indeed.)

So, ya old bum ya, jack-of-all-trades (and master of at least 5), we wish you many satisfied returns of the day!

Hat's off to Willie, alright. That old 'bo never drank anything unless it could be used as fuel in a diesel engine. Hope he's keepin' his rods greased.
