Cripes, look at that thing. It's beautiful.
You can even smell it, the coal and the steam and the grease and the hot iron.

Maybe in my next life...

Jon, if you really want a 2-6-6-6, I'll sell you mine. What's nice about mine is I fixed all the mistakes 3rd Rail made. TMCC, too.

I am still waiting on a report of Southern cooking and hospitality from our correspondent down in Texas.

Tramp!! You do realize that that engine is the ONLY engine Scott Mann was quoted as saying, "he wished he had made more of them"? Also, you own one out of 40 on the entire planet? I'm thinking!!!!!!! I'm at the house all day today if you could give me a call with the details. Thanks, Jon

Mine is the only one with the correct large VIRGINIAN letters across the tender. Best whistle ever.

I believe that's the one with the whistle that tells the hobo's story.

Peter, that is the one with the lonesome whistle that breaks a hobo's heart. I removed the white line on the walkways, painted all the valve handles red, installed an Arttista crew, raised the high of the rear auto coupler, modified the reversing mechanics so they flick back and forth at each chuff (a bit strange, but very easily changed back), chrome painted both light reflectors and added a better lens. It's number 38 of 40.

I'll never be able to drink that wooden-shoe beer in quite the same way again.
