Hobo Jungle
Re: Hobo Jungle
This post is aimed nowhere, but sort of fits in considering where the thread is drifting. I can say, if you think we're bad on this forum, I've visited others (once) that were so caustic there was no reason to return. So, in general, we're a pretty good group of guys and we all have our good and bad days.

This was one of my hangouts during the 1980s. Also in the 1990s but less so. Great place then. No idea now. Cheers!

If in doubt, go with any P.E.I. oyster.

Re: Hobo Jungle
Mmmmm, oysters. They are making a comeback in my local waters. I've gotten very fresh ones from a local bayman. I'm even starting to be able to shuck them without stabbing myself
Re: Hobo Jungle
Yes, the entire family loves oysters. One of the best oyster memories was on a convention in New Orleans in '85. Wife and I just walked around the French Quarter from bar to bar getting oysters and shrimp for $.25 each. Oysters were so fresh they crunched and shrimp came to the table head on.....which for Midwesterner's this was Great food and never put on a pound as we were walking too much. Hurricanes were great too!
Revisited about 10 years ago and it was the pits. Scummiest people walking around and hawking everything. Vendors on St. Louis Cathedral square were selling utter crap and who knows what else.....nothing like the mid 80's when it was crafts and creative items.

I've been on Prince Edward Island twice but I never ate any oysters, but I've been to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia quite a few times and I can tell you that the scallops are awesome. It must be that cold North Atlantic water.

I can hardly wait to read what Rufus has to say about a beer with a label and name like that.

Name is amusing; IPA is not a beer I would drink; interesting addition of a coffee to an IPA.
This time of year is when I switch to iced tea with sweet lime added.

Yes.
The difference between an ale and a lager comes down to how the beer looks, smells, and tastes. Comes down to the types of yeast used during fermentation, and the addition of hops, etc.
