I'm learning how to use my new camera. Amazing how well these work.

Nice building, Tramp.

I remember a layout that you had on the floor.
Are you planning one now where buildings would
be used or use them on the floor or just put on a mantle?

Roger, the trains aren't running any longer. One of our cats peed on the ZW transformer and that slowed things. Now just some of the models are on display around the house.

This is 30 years old now:

Tramp,

Very nice.
Since you don't have a layout, do you build models for fun or for a club or to sell?

My scratch built stuff from my high school days was never up to your standards.
I followed that idea that if it looked close enough it was good enough.

Oh, did it sell?

I don't post much here but I've been a fan for a long time.
I hate to change the subject but I was poking around my corporate website and found an interesting ink to a new energy device.
This is right up Webenda's alley.
Now this isn't any company but defense giant Lockheed Martin's Skunkworks division.
Skunkworks is where the first stealth fighter technology came from.
As a physics grad and a aerospace engineer this is the coolest nuclear fusion energy technology that I have seen to date.
If Lockheed Martin Skunkworks has this on their public website it must be very close to producing energy.
I think this will become a really big deal.
Watch the video on the Lockheed Martin public link below.

This seems to be just what the doctor ordered, but I'm wondering if Lockheed had to go it alone financially, or with the help of investors. Because of being in the military industrial complex, the current administration would tend to cut their funding rather than contribute, while providing funding in the billions to a bunch of losers making solar panels that nobody wants.

Lockheed Martin is a very conservative company. They generally don't publish anything that either doesn't exist already or isn't very close to to being produced. Skunkworks is known for pushing the scientific envelope in a closed military environment. Don't expect to see a scientific paper for review as a university would normally do. They guard their research tightly, file patents and then license or produce a product as any for profit company should. Currently their stock is at an all time high so they should be able to afford the research.

Hats off to LM for taking a swag at this...hopefully they have more success here than they did with the F-35 Lightning II.

Tranzformer,
Interesting. When do you think we might hear more about this?
I don't remember hearing anything about this from the usual news sources.
I would hope that Wayne, Rufus, Sarge and hopefully others with technology
backgrounds will comment.

I've heard some second hand stuff but I have no idea. I've been told that the Doctorate engineer in the video has been given a lab and funding. I'm guessing that he was hired for whatever unique ideas he had.

The Air Force F35 is flying and has started to be deployed. The Navy variant recently landed on an aircraft carrier.

Tramp, this diorama was beautifully done. I love this picture in particular, and the face-on of the gas station, though they all are cool. Hats off to the photographer.
