Ooohhhhh yeaaaaaa, Johnny Walker Red, Johnny Walker Black, etc. Yep! I'll bet you're right. I'd never have gotten that, so I figured I'd tempt Doc Wayne who would surely extrapolate well from the available data.

Yet, Tramp, you turned out to be the great extrapolator (unless Doc Wayne deliberately left the door open after walking right up to the correct choice and waiting... :? ) hhhhmmmmmmm......

Thank you tramp.

It was team work Murph. I could not think of it until Tramp named it, then the big, "OF COURSE," hit me. I think the kid's misspelling of "Red" threw me off.

What has BritBloke (aka BikerMike) been up to since he dropped out, Dec 03, 2012?

He must have discovered the fountain of youth. Look at that ending!

No,no,no.

Can't be the BikerMike we knew.Unless he,as you said, found that fountain.

That was quite a performance.

Last I knew still living the quiet life of the beachcomber and scooter rider actually. A valued letter or two via USPS from time to time. He was working on a layout for which I sent a box down to him with some pieces, all back before I hit a wall healthwise in mid-summer that attracted my somewhat undivided attention.

Anyway, last I knew living a life of computerless peace; I'm about to send a Christmas card and get an update.

Calif. taxpayers dodge a bullet, the bullet train that is. A superior court judge ruled that the funding plan doesn't comply with what the voters voted for. Could be a fatal blow to the High Speed Train.
Also voters were told it would not need a subsidy to operate and there is no evidence of that.
They will appeal this ruling.

The first snow of the season means the Impala has had her last run until next spring. Time for the tarp, battery to bench, and the long wait. I think Jay C would like this photo.

I did not know Impalas in cold states hibernate for the winter. You learn more things on this forum.

Wayne:

When the salt trucks come out, we hide 'em.

This is how Chevs in cold states become old Chevs.

This I know.

Surely is true in PA. My long gone F-250 handed down to me (3rd owner) literally rotted off the frame. It's 1st owner was an uncle of mine that worked for PennDOT and it saw a lot of salt and hard road.

Sarge, Rufus,

Thank you for confirming my suspicion on the subject of hibernating cars. Even in Southern California, cars kept near the ocean rust out. Personal experience? Yes, my first car was previously owned by the shore patrol. I figured all it needed was a little paint. It continued to rust even though I took it inland after winning the bid at a government auction and having it painted.

It's interesting to note that part of the vinyl turquoise-n-white interior appears to have remained pristine.
