Good on the leaflets, bad on the leaf.
Hackberry leaves have alternate leaflets, your tree leaves have even pinnate leaflets (as well as only eight leaflets per leaf.)

Heard of it, but that's the limit of what I know of it. Now, how did it get there?

Mitch, swap that DE filter for a sand filter, and your troubles will be over.

We have a cover that allows rain and snow melt through, but keeps leaves atop, which blow off with any wind. We've never failed to have the pool so full in the Spring that it was way over the skimmer inlet, but yes, there's always algae and some muck on the bottom, worms and such, (ours is inground). Two cool things: first, there's no 'shaking' required, no fingers to get clogged, no dismantling to be done to get at the fingers, no muriatic acid required. Ever again. Ever. Second, The tank of it has a 'head' that has a handle that rotates, allowing several 'modes', with one selection being that the pool water coming from the pump BYPASSES the filter (did you hear me, son? Bypasses the filter!!) and goes straight to 'waste', meaning that the scum in the Spring, using the extra water, goes straight out into the field without going through the filter, which is HUGE, buddy. F*cking HUGE! Thirdly, (bonus!), the sand is good for three or four years, no emptying of the filter every winter, (there is a tap to drain the water out), no changing the DE during the season, backwashing is a cinch, and the old sand can be sucked out with a shop vac.

No other way to go.

Pete, we have a sand filter down in the basement. Threw that fucker out 3 years ago as the most worthless piece of shit money could buy! It could never hold a candle to the earth filter, which we are very happy with. It's just the first week of pool season that sucks with it. Compared to sand, our water is crystal clear, and I don't have to do the back flushing constantly as I did with sand. Nope! Make mine earth!

Chinese Privet is an abundant semi-evergreen small tree or large shrub. And it actually has invaded Main along the coast. Not too bad a guess, but, in addition to no petiole it has smooth edge leaflets and more than eight leaflets per leaf (way more.) Do you want a grade for that guess?

That tree really is a mystery. The Bonnergantor, our certified local tree expert, believes it's some kind of cherry, which the Hackberry is. Man, now I'm really getting curious. Wayne, have you checked on the northern European Hackberry? All trees must be something, right?

On another subject, I need your hobo opinion. Someone doesn't seem to want to pay Tramp for services rendered. Tramp has a friend called The Horn, photo below. As The Horn says, "Your enemies are my enemies. Just say the word and it's done." Would any of you be concerned if The Horn came to "talk" to you. Of course, I could always send The Hevy if all else failed.

"The Horn"... no, Hev... yes.

Daisy... double yes. Whatever you do, don't send Daisy after anyone. She just sent a chill up my spine with a warning about my grading system. I am not worried about The Horn, but if Daisy shows up I am done for.

It seems to be something nobody has ever heard of. I don't think you have a natural tree. I have been thinking "hybrid." If it is a hybrid, that would explain why it is so hard to identify. It could have characteristics of two trees or characteristics of its own. This Dutch hybrid, Aprikyra, has leaflets with arcuate venation and is described as very slow growing, but does not have your cherry like fruit. It has a plum like fruit that tastes like a cherry.
