Jon and Hev:
Thanks for the good wishes.

My family had a nice low-key soiree yesterday, bless 'em. The Boy gave me a set of Legos (funny how that works, bless his heart), and the rest of the clan plied me with thick history books and desirable articles of clothing. It was a grand time, and one cannot help but reflect on one's good fortune to be surrounded by a family such as this.

Anyway, looks like the thought processes are rolling for a re-union of sorts. Any thoughts as to a date and place besides my stab in the dark?

Happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy birthday! 8)

October 9th works for me. By sheer dumb luck, it's my weekend off, and Kim isn't working. I'll submit my itinerary to the Travel Committee and see if it meets approval.

Sure hope, Sarge, that you and Bikermike are aware of what you're taking on. Any public association with the likes of me and Hev has been known to cause tarnishment of character. You'd best travel incognito.

At our age, tarnish as a protective coating.

Thanks for the wishes!

Sounds like we're up to three, with Mike testing the waters and ...

Wait a minute! Is that the Murph man I hear lurking around the perimeter?

Jon. You gonna hijack that Hawk and head north for a little spell afore ye go?

Oh, I be a-lurkin' , all right, and enjoying the progress of this li'l conversation. Thanks for mentioning me in this regard, sir. Meeting at Strasburg sounds great, of course. However, the Oct. date would be impractical for me since I will be travelng to York/Lancaster, Oct 12th to the 17th, for TCA show/meet-thing (Orange Hall.) I couldn't do both trips, and could not stay for the duration of both since The Bucket will be packed to the rafters w/ dioramas.

I thought of driving into NYC to pick up a certain Bikermike, to save him the ordeal of a bus ride and the expense; however, even the front seat would be packed totally. And as I said, I couldn't do both events and am long-committed to the York meet.

That's Columbus Day weekend, for all you Columbians,

The weekend of the Oct 9 is also the Fall Spectacular over at the East Broad Top RR and at the Rockhill Trolley Museum, just over the moutain a bit from my place in PA.

But, I'm told that I probably can't go there or to Strasburg since it will be Fall break and my daughter will be home from college.

I'll belatedly add to the happy birthday wishes Sarge. How come everyone else but me knows about that?

Soooo, the Baron has passed another one? A belated good one to ya bud.

I may be able to involve myself inciting that small insurrection on the 9th of October... Actually, my plans were to be in the lovely borough of Strasburg that day, something to do with an O scale gathering.

Happy belated birthday Sarge.

This jungle has a diverse group of characters. I was thinking, if I could meet you guys in Strasburg, which I cannot, we could form the Strasburg Village People.

Fireman (Hev)
Teacher (Murph)
Nurse (Dirt)
G.I. (Sarge and/or ANG retired)
Cowboy (Wayne)
Biker (Mike)

Happy First Day of your next year of life, Sarge. Whichever birthday you have just celebrated, you have accomplished and finished that many years; You are now into the next year - number. For example, if you turned 50, you are, today, actually in your 51st year. See? Now, ain't dat nice and comforting?

And Ol' Wayne, as for you, :P you are in serious need of advice and counseling. The Village People? Yeah, and let's all stay at the YMCA while we're at it for some towel snappin', butt twitchin' , costume wearin', :o trippin' , baby. I can jus' see the group now. :? Your outfit I can easily picture, and me, I dunno what I'd be wearin', but I'll bet you have an idea 'bout  that gurgling around in that noggin, for sure. Ha-evah, The Question is, what would Hev be wearin' ? Several images spring to mind, each of them curious in their own way. Now, there would be a toot, (or is that supposed to be "hoot"?)

Hev would be wearing his fireman outfit.

There are limits to tarnish, you know. (Of course, we haven't come close yet.)

We get Jon up here and be well on our way to a squad.

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes; have no idea how that little piece of info got out (Do we, Rotor-head? :D ), but I sincerely appreciate all the kind thoughts.

So. It's the 9th at 2PM in front of the museum, then?

Maybe the next month we can gather in G'burg, grab a bite, check out some of the field, then adjourn to Dungfield Manor and run some trains. Given we find each other as tolerable in person as we do in print, perhaps worth making into a periodic (monthly might be a little ambitious, but whathehell) bad habit.

Murph, mate. I've been using your math-method to compute my less-than-a-year to retirement. Works da nutz. I'll try to catch you Friday at York and say How-do!
