Rich, that's one hell of a movie that no one ever seems to mention. The end isn't as compelling as the beginning, but finishing stuff is always the rub. Now I'm going to have to watch it again.

Was Delmonico's a steak house in Manhattan at the turn of the century?

... my last throw-up and zombie-fication on the lawn in front of a girls' dorm, on campus, in 1966. It was a hurl to remember. That was late on a Friday night. The hangover lasted (sweaty; fuzzy; stinky; dumb-ass-ified) until the following Tuesday.

Murph, your versatility never ceases to amaze me!
Because, I heard that not only were you known as the "Bush-Master", but that your friends also called you the "Staff Chief of Joints"!
 :D

As for 24 beers in a day, Hev just told me over the phone that he hasn't had 24 beers in his lifetime!

Veeeerrrrry interesting you should say that beeeecaaaauuse.........here was the little diddy I was forced to say, as a "pledge" to my fraternity, every time a frat. brother came across my path - in a classroom, academic building, in the frat house, dorms, Student Union, or out on campus:
I am muff-diver man, a misconceived miscarriage who methodically plays motorcycle, vvvvvrrrrrrooommmmm vrrrrrooooom!(hands held at chest height, elbows extended parallel to the ground, hands twisting imaginery "motorcycle" "grips." I'm sure you get the picture.

Rites of passage.

Yeah, ya dog, to my everlasting shame.
Word had it though, you gave the waitress a C-note to keep settin' me up every five minutes.

Not sure why it is not better known....one of my favorites and some great characters.

Did a little Googling and yes it was and it is still around, at least in name.

Well Daisy, me, I'm thanking the Lord every day, now, for the gift of sight (and for my doctor's skills,) and I am beginning to craft once again for clients and for next October's York TCA show. I'm happy and healthy as can be and, honestly, enjoying every minute of every day, full of the joy of life.
And you?

Here's a tawdry tale of woe for you!

Here, we've spent some three months rebuilding one of the bedrooms into a nice library, something any self-respecting English home comes with as a matter of course, but houses here in the States universally lack.

We stripped everything to the bare walls, ran new electric service for proper lighting, a nice Tiffany fixture overhead, oak bookcases, a nice antique spinet desk, seating with reading tables, militaria, flags and trophies-at-arms, even a globe and a Waltham library clock.

Three months of disorder and expense!

And for whose benefit, as it turns out?
